Each year SXSW takes place in Austin in March.  It hosts a comprehensive mix of new, up-and-coming, international, and established artists performing in bars, clubs, parks, churches and hotels around Austin. The festival is for artists, influential music industry professionals, international media, and fans.

It’s home for both independent and commercial rock, pop, hip-hop, folk, electronic, Americana, Latin, world and traditional, singer-songwriter, experimental, and everything in between. At SXSW Music 2016 over 67 countries were represented amongst the 2,200-plus official performers (of which 235 were UK acts).

Official SXSW showcasing artists perform to an audience of music industry professionals (including record labels, booking agencies, management, PR firms, export offices, publishers, media, festivals and more). Additional nightly shows are curated with new and raw talent looking to enhance their careers and gain unparalleled exposure to new audiences.
The 2017 SXSW Music badge offers industry professionals more opportunities to learn, network, and discover than ever before. SXSW is making some exciting changes to streamline the event and give every registrant expanded access to more of the SXSW Conference & Festivals experience.  In addition to primary access to all the great SXSW Music programming and events, a Music badge will allow you secondary entry to a majority of the compelling Interactive and Film programming and events.

If you were a SXSW delegate between 2012-2016 you will have received a discount code which gives you a $125 discount on the early bird rate which you need to book before 9th September.

Showcases At The British Music Embassy
The British Music Embassy, with its own dedicated music venue at Latitude 30 on San Jacinto Blvd, just of 6th St, is the hub of all British music activity at SXSW.  Supported by AIM, UKTI and other industry organisations, 50+ of the best up and coming UK talent will be showcasing at the BME. Latitude 30 effectively becomes a little piece of the UK, our Embassy and HQ for the 'live/showcase side of British Music in Austin', for the duration of the event and will be a place for promoting the British contingent.
