Hi friends

Very seldom do I complete a lyric in 10 - 15 minutes, but this one wrote itself. The muse seldom works fast when he/she visits me and I would therefore appreciate any comments helping me to improve this rush job. Thanks Jan

MY FAVORITE DRINK IS THE NEXT ONE

I’ve never been too fussy
About the drinks I’ve bought
As long as it was alcohol
It’s good for me I thought

My darlin’ often asked me
Why do you drink each day?
Though I was short on answers
I honestly could say:

My favorite drink is the next one
That’s why I drink so fast
I always drink till I’m done
Not even make a long drink last
Yeah my favorite drink is the next one

My darlin’ moaned we’re all broke
I was the one to blame
If I kept on boozin' each night
She’d start to do the same

If you can’t beat them, join them
She now says is the cure
Guess the bard smiles a little bit
When he hears my wife slur

My favorite drink is the next one
That’s why I drink so fast
I always drink till I’m done
Not even make a long drink last
Yeah my favorite drink is the next one

My conscience made me feel unwell
Each night I was out drinkin’
But since my darlin’ joined me
I’ve been thinkin’....
.....This surely must be hell

Our favorite drink is the next one
That’s why we drink so fast
We always drink till we’re done
Not even make a long drink last
Yeah our favorite drink is the next one

Hi,

This is a song I’ve just finished. Sorry about the quality but its all I can afford at the moment. Anyway the song is my first stab at lyrics so I am not very confident about that. Also the track contains a key change for the chorus (also my first) so I was wondering what you think.

Thanks

Allan

Love is all you need

Love is all you need

The spirit of 69
And the working classes
We were on cloud nine starting revolutions

This is for the bad times
With the modern world
We shall overcome bang a different drum in this loathsome tome

Love is all you need
Imagine flowers in your hair

I will touch the sky
From my bed room window
Stay here stuck inside
Starting revolution

Ill sing war is over
Give peace a chance
Grow my hair
In this loathsome time

Once again this is older work... not really sure if that's good or not. Thought i'd post it anyways though. In case you are curious a Sonnet is a 14 line poem following a specific rhyme scheme ABABCDCDEFEFGG.

Layers of forest pass me by with my hand
Out the window and the AC turned on
We come up over the bend, mountains and lush land
Finally in view just past the break of dawn
A river winds through the valley clean and cool
Coming down the highway I see a couple kids fishin'
Getting a tug he quickly reals it in, winding up the spool
The other boy just relaxes and keeps waiting
A few miles down the road we arrive to our campsite
I step out and take a second to breathe in that forest air
And get a good stretch before we feel that lakes cold bite
Smelling pine I put up my tent by the trees and prepare
It's not everyday you're immersed in natures colors and shapes
But you can always make time for natures great escape

PEOPLE SAY

It's 3 years up and comin.
i cant believe your gone.

I bet sometimes you wonder.
If the choise you made was wrong.

I know you should have spoken.
there and then but its here and now.

Every time my courage gets me up and high.
my nerves just bring me down.

chorus
People say you never know youve got something, good until it's gone.
well i never believed them, but with you baby i was wrong.

From the first time that i saw you.
i thought in my mind.

What kind of person is she?
i she a different kind?

So infront of me stood the,
greatest piece of art i'de ever seen.

But then after a while,
i realised those mona lisa eyes werent looking at me.

CHORUS

I thought that we could have it.
the life we'de always want.

and yeah youde have it.
but with some other c*nt.

Life is like a roller-coaster.
It has its ups and downs.

But without you baby.
my roller-coaster just keeps goin down

CHORUS x2

Verse 1:
Hate fuels my engine
It clears my perception
Gives me the strength I need
To survive

Now fire all your shots
Give it all that you’ve got
Your malevolence is what
Keeps me alive

Chorus:
Here
We stand now for our way life
Against those who would criticize
Show the world that we will not submit
The match to ignite chaos is lit

Verse 2:
Love needs no critic
But to evil you’re an addict
We won’t give in to your cruel
Intentions tonight

We’re ready for war now
And no pain can make us bow
Prepare to die at the hands of those
Born to fight

Chorus:
Here
We stand now for our way life
Against those who would criticize
Show the world that we will not submit
The match to ignite chaos is lit

Bridge:
Perceive me (perceive what I am)
Fear me (fear what I’ll become)
Deceive me (and I’ll cut you down)
Hear me (surrender to us now)

Chorus:
Here
We stand now for our way life
Against those who would criticize
Show the world that we will not submit
The match to ignite chaos is lit

Chorus:
Here
We stand now for what we believe
Against those who refuse to receive
Our peace that has been rejected
Now each life on each side is affected

Chorus:
Here
We stand now for our way life
Against those who would criticize
Show the world that we will not submit
The match to ignite chaos is lit

Now the match to ignite chaos is lit
Now the match to ignite chaos is lit
Now the match to ignite chaos is lit

Desert Sand
(Verse 1:)
Pray to your gods and pray to your saints, pray that we're sinners and pray that
you ain't

Pray for your safety and pray that you're right, and that when you die it's
black and it's white

And pray that the sand isn't as close as it seems, it's in your eyes, it's in
your dreams

And pray that you've got the upper hand, cuz desert sand's in the promised land
---------
(Chorus:)
It is the soldier leaving the fallen behind

And it is the doctor saving face instead of saving lives

It is the broker that took your cash and spent it on himself

It is the war, it is the war, it is the war
---------
(Verse 2:)
When you kill all your demons you've killed all your friends, they must have
snuck under your defense

And when they'd been planted you rooted them out, it was so much harder when you
were devout

To them, your pre-chosen friends, your doctor, your lawyer, your neighbor, your
man

When they all want what's best for them, what's best for you is not hand in hand
---------
(Verse 3:)
Your yard is a minefield your car is a tank, and you are the army not called by
your rank

Big business is booming their products are guns, they say you're the chosen and
you are the one

That fights for them, your unwanted friends, your general, your captain, your
sergeant, your men

It's way too much for you to ignore the desert that is right outside your door
---------
(Chorus)
---------
(Bridge:)
Your world is a war that's fought in disguise that's far more complex than you
realize

Your house is a barracks, your bed is a bunk, you climbed up the ladder and you
missed a rung

You fell to a floor that's covered in sand, you try to get up but you're met
with demands

You run to your children and find that they're gone, off fighting the war you
ignored for so long
---------
(Chorus)

Coises Icon
- Yesterday, 08:09 PM - 8 comments

My name is Randy Fellmy, but on the Internet I generally go by Coises (pronounced as if Curly from the Three Stooges were saying Snidely Whiplash’s line, “Curses... foiled again!”). I was born in 1958, which I guess makes me a wee bit longer in the tooth than most folks here — and makes the picture beside this post almost half as old as I am. In recognition of those facts, I think I’ll introduce myself with this song, which also happens to be my newest (performed with tongue firmly in cheek).

This is actually kinda old... I wrote it a couple months ago, but was debating posting it :P On a different site there was a challenge to write a parody... the three options were...

The Boys Are Back In Town by Thin Lizzy (this is the one I picked)
Start Me Up by The Rolling Stones
and Every Breath You Take by The Police

It's very different and I thought to myself if I wanted to make it funny i'd have to let go of my normal writing standards, lol. If you haven't heard the song before I would suggest looking it up before reading... I think that it'd be more enjoyable!

Guess what chick just walked this way?
Making them white boys just runaway
She was fat sat there eatin' Lays
But oh man, was she wide and so lazy

Stopped by every Mcdonalds in town
Filled on all the fries she had found
A man asked her, when did you stroll into town?
Down one knee, man he was crazy

Looked ugly in her gown, looked ugly in her gown
I said!
Looked ugly in her gown, looked ugly in her gown
Her chest was sagging down, her chest was sagging down
The chick was big and round, looked ugly in her gown!

You know that chick that you thought was so hot?
Every night she'd be snorting donuts 'till it hit the spot
Don't lick that! It's not frosting but probably pot
Down her nose it was streaming

And Johnny was always on the chase
After that time that chick threw up in his face
Johnny was tired, couldn't keep the pace
'Till he finally gave in and married her

Looked ugly in her gown, looked ugly in her gown
I said
Looked ugly in her gown, looked ugly in her gown
Her chest was sagging down, her chest was sagging down
The chick was big and round, looked ugly in her gown!

10 feet all around
Guess who's chest sagged down?

You spread the word around

Sunday night she'll be dressed to fill
Her face will food just until
She falls on someone she'll probably kill
And if that lass wants some more , you'd better let her

That jukebox played "I Love Rockie Road" her favorite song
Made her realize the man she wanted all along
Won't be long till she sayes I do
To that dude at Krispy Kremes

Looked ugly in her gown, looked ugly in her gown
Looked ugly in her gown, looked ugly in her gown
Her chest was sagging down, her chest was sagging down
10 feet all around
The chick was big and round, looked ugly in her gown!

The chick was wide, the chick was high

Big and round what a surprise
Been divorcin' at Reno
Cause she looked ugly in her gown

A little repetitive but that's how the original goes :P
