Reputation

  1. Joy Division and Sex Bob-Omb from the comic/movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
  2. What HoboSage said. Some good advice right there. Cockburn would actually make a pretty good name for a hard rock band though ...
  3. Gunfire - Leons Massacre http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=I79PzVYZJCA&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DI79PzVYZJCA
  4. I write songs to deal with my experiences, thoughts and dreams. I don't talk about my feelings much and if I wouldn't let them out by writing songs, I'd be a pretty depressed dude (with a few scars here and there). My friends would be shocked if they heard my songs. So yeah, I'm doing it for myself, but I also want to make music that is relatable to others, who aren't popular or who are unable to be themselves. I'm planning to finish my home-made album by the end of this year. Making an album is one of my main goals at the moment. Exactly. I obviously love to write and make music, but I'll be honest: I also hope to earn a couple of bucks with them someday. My dream is to make a living out of music. I don't know if I'd want others to sing my songs though, like writing for others. In the words of Noel Gallagher: "f*cking write your own songs".
  5. Hi folks, here's my channel. Check it out. I also sub back. http://www.youtube.com/user/sytunes
  6. 1. Do you sing, play an instrument or instruments? I sing, play the piano and am currently learning how to play guitar. I started playing piano at the age of 7/8. I started playing guitar not too long ago. I've never taken singing lessons, but I intend to do so, in order to learn the various techniques which make singing easier. I've always had piano lessons. I wasted almost 2 years at a big school and quit when I realized I didn't make any progress. I'm currently taking lessons focused on blues/jazz and pop. 2. Are you in a band or bands? I'm not in a band, but I'd love to be. Unfortunately, the people I'm close with aren't interested in making music and since I'm a socially awkward person, it isn't easy for me to ask other folks whether they'd like to jam. I'm trying the best to fix this problem though. However, I do have live experience playing with others, since my music school organizes a big festival each year. 3. Do you write songs? I write my own songs and compose music as well. I started doing it regularly last year. 4. Do you record your music? Currently, I'm only able to record my music with a camcorder or a phone. But I'm saving money for a good mic. I upload my music on SoundCloud and YouTube, links are in my signature. 5. What other roles do you perform in the music business? None. 6. Are you a tech head? Nope. 7. What country do you live in? Germany. 8. What are your ambitions? I want to realize my dream off making a living out of the activity I love the most. 9. Do you draw/paint/write stories/computer art/dance or other creative pursuit? I draw, photograph and/or design the cover arts of my songs and future home-made albums. 10. What would you like to get out of Songstuff? I want honest criticism in order to get to the next level. I want to improve and I'm here to learn.
  7. How can I ask anyone to love me When all I do is beg to be left alone? - "Left Alone", Fiona Apple Unrequited love To me is nothing but a one-man cult - "Bad Religion", Frank Ocean
  8. I composed music for a song I wrote a couple of weeks back. I've had the melody in my head for what seems like an eternity.
  9. Exactly. Most good rock music is indie, even though The Black Keys are getting bigger and bigger. Last year, bands like the Japandroids, Alabama Shakes, the Gaslight Anthem, Grizzly Bear and Two Door Cinema Club put out some of the best albums of 2012. This year, the Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age and U2 will release new LPs, as well as possibly the Arctic Monkeys. Rock music is certainly not gone.
