I have that mic as well and it's great on just about everything. Has a real Neumann like response without the huge price tag.

LOVE my Shiny Box MXC Ribbon. Use it on acoustics, vox and gtr cabs. Performs just as well as the way more expensive ribbons. I also have a Royer R101 for gtr cabs that I use a lot. My Octava MK-012-01 is amazing on acoustic gtrs. Captures the wood very well.

I think this happens more and more now due to all the unplugged and story-telling shows that are on TV. Most often times I cant even make out what they are saying just due to poor acoustics of the venue coupled with the singer moving the mic around and not holding it up to their mouth when they do talk. THAT drives me nuts.

I really love my Alvarez acoustic. Nice warm balance with shimmery top end.

Use the Aux Busses a ton for my mixing. I have a crazy matrix I use for vocals. Having a comp bus that you send drums and bass to for locking them together is also essential.
