  1. Just finished my first song in almost a year

  2. This is the first song I've completed in over a year. Any comments are appreciated but I would particularily like to hear opinions on the mixing and mastering. Thanks Lee Wait Here - Link to song Wait here while I break your heart Wait here while I turn your world upside down Don’t try to make some sense of this cause nothing good could come of it Wait here while your world falls apart What have I become People change like the seasons run We shape our lives with the choices we make When I made mine I knew what was at stake Back at the beginning Would not have hurt you so Love changes everything Turns a sweet caress to a bitter sting Wait here while I break your heart Wait here while I turn your world upside down Don’t try to make some sense of this cause nothing good could come of it Wait here while your world falls apart I’m facing up to what I’ve done wrong Who can say where our hearts belong When we started out There wasn’t a shadow of doubt in my mind I can’t explain why my feelings changed It’s like the winter sun and the summer rain I’m holding out my hands You’re the judge and jury here I stand Wait here while I break your heart Wait here while I break your heart Wait here while I break your heart Wait here while your world falls apart Wait here
  3. I like the song and I like your voice. Mixing and mastering sound fine to me although I'm no expert. I have few ideas about the structure of the song. Have you considered going straight to the bridge after the second verse and then back to the chorus after the bridge. I also think the last chorus would sound better with something that could lift it, maybe key change or a higher vocal harmony. Lee
  4. As Daylight Turns To Night

I like the song and I think the simple arrangement works. As its a song about loss, I think the vocal sound would work better if it sounded closer, just a short reverb at a low volume. I also think you could put a simple string sound with the guitar picking and the vocal. Lee
  5. Complete (Remix)

A friend who creates dance tunes offered to remix one of my songs. So I said yes. You can hear the result by clicking on the link below. Complete (remix) - Link to song Here's the original if you care or even can be bothered to make a comparison. Complete (original) - Link to song Cheers Lee
  6. Acoustic Song

Hi I like the song. I love the combinations of guitars and the strings. It's been said already but I think your vocal gets a bit lost in the first verse/chorus(?) In the second verse, your voice sounded a lot clearer. If you could make all the verses and chorus sound like this I think it would improve it. Lee
  7. In My Mind

Hi I like this. I think it's really good. Love the guitar riff and I really like your voice. Lee
  8. I Am One

I sounds great John. Love the harmonies in the chorus. You don't need to change it, but I agree with Nightwolf about the ending. You said it sounded a bit obivious, so if you do plan to change it, how about changing the chord or/and note on the 'one' of 'I am one' just to make it less obvious. Great song. Lee
  9. Starry Eyes

Thanks Tom and John I've been listening back and I agree with you about the vocal John. There is something not quite right about it. I will have a go redoing the vocal. I've just bought some new monitors as well, 5 inch with tweeters, which should make mixing easier. All I had before were some basic 3 inch speakers. Lee
  10. As much as I don't like what the major labels get away with, they do it because a massive market exists for this type of music. I find it so disheartening when I hear friends and family talk about the latest contestant on the X factor or Britains got talent. Lee
  11. Starry Eyes

I've uploaded a new and better mix of Starry Eyes with the bass drum removed. Lee
  12. Starry Eyes

Hi Tom I tried removing the bass drum from the intro and I think you're right it doesn't need to be there. I have not had time to upload a new version yet. Lee
  13. Hi John I tried changing the file name to mp3 but that didn't work. Your flash player does work though. I remember listening to this before, although that was a long time ago. I think the intro and way you build the song through the first verse into the chorus is brilliant. The intro sounds like you've just picked up a guitar and started playing. I love that. I think the intro used be longer? (I maybe wrong) It's the perfect length now. The whole song is great. The music really conveys the meaning and emotion in the lyrics. I love all the 'stringy' 'synthy' bits; they work extremely well. One thing I found strange was that the acoustic riff after the first chorus seemed very quiet. Was that deliberate? I thought that could've been a little higher in volume. Lee
  14. Starry Eyes

I think this song is just about finished, but I'm wondering if it needs some more instrumentation. Any other comments are also appreciated. Starry Eyes - Link to song This is a link to amazingtunes.com, a website were some songs are selected for broadcast on a national digital radio station in the UK. Songs are selected on plays, ratings and tags. I would aprepicate if anyone listening could 'rate'(like it?) and 'tag' the song. Thanks Lee You look at me through starry eyes I don't know the reason why Try to give you what you need But I'm holding back the tears People come and people go Drift away like falling snow I don't understand this world Can't explain away the hurt If I could take it all away Take you to a place so far away Hide from the reality of life Are you too young for all this Are you too young I close my eyes to the scenes that play before me Hide my fear inside so deep inside it can't break free I pray for an answer that will catch you when you fall There are some things in life that make us feel so small If I could take them all away Take you to a place so far away Hide from the reality of life Are you too young for all this Are you too young If I could take it all away Take you to a place so far away Hide from the reality of life Are you too young for all this You look at me through starry eyes
  15. In Love With Falling In Love

Hi Tom I liked the song. I listened to the version on soundclick as my windows media player won't play files from your website. What I heard and the comments I read didn't seem to match up. Is this the same version of the song? Lee
