  1. Lyrics are posted now Thanks everyone for the advice and comments!!
  2. Thanks for the great tips! I'll definitely consider those (and you're right about the diction haha... I know the lyrics so its easy for ME to follow along but might be too fast and unclear for others, so I'll keep that in mind )
  3. Hello all! I'm back again with a new pop song called "Girl Across the Bar". Tried some news things out as usual, but I love the bass-iness of the instrumental and hope that the lyrics I wrote fit well Thanks for listening, and tell me your thoughts! Edit: I worked with someone on this song and I was just responsible for the lyrics and vocals so I would particularly like critique on those sections since those are the ones I have control over at the moment Lyrics: You sitting real pretty over there, sipping on a drink while you’re playing with your hair oh-oh, baby You got my friends laughing at me, asking me ayyo whats it gonna be oh-oh. Oh am I outta my mind, because you’re something divine, and it kills me. I think I’m gonna make my move, because I wanna get with you, oh baby. Hey you, to the girl across the bar, you’re real cute, and I’d like to meet ya. I know I ain’t some superstar but we can still have fun, I know how to treat ya right. Bartender, get her what she like, swear I’m gonna treat you like a queen tonight. Feeling like I’ve known you for a long time, but baby it ain’t even been for a whole night. Hey you, to the girl across the bar, I’m so glad that I got to meet ya. Lets take a ride in a stolen car, drivin fast through the city with your head on my shoulder. Maybe its just for tonight, so baby here’s my number call me if you’d like. It don’t matter where we are, you’ll always be my girl across the bar. Let me ask you one thing, when you came for the night did you know you’d be looking for love? Maybe? Oh-oh, tryna start something new, hoping that somebody would fall for you, tonight… Oh when I walked in the room, tell me ya felt something too, like its magic. Feel like I’m running out of time, if I wanna make you mine, oh baby. Hey you, to the girl across the bar, you’re real cute, and I’d like to meet ya. I know I ain’t some superstar but we can still have fun, I know how to treat ya right. Bartender, get her what she like, swear I’m gonna treat you like a queen tonight. It don’t matter where we are, you’ll always be my girl across the bar. Take a chance cause you’ll never ever know if you don’t, This world is better when you’re not on your own. Nobody ever knows where anything goes, Got your eyes on me we don’t need to take it slow, slow, slow. Come on baby, living like its the last night of our lives. Like the things we do don’t matter till the sun rise. They say YOLO, you only live one life, Imma make the most of it imma take you in my arms tonight. Hey you, to the girl across the bar, you’re real cute, and I’d like to meet ya. I know I ain’t some superstar but we can still have fun, I know how to treat ya right. 4. Wow, great job! I've heard some of your previous songs and I feel the most emotion in this one, which I love! The vocals also sound fuller, in my opinion, compared to your previous tracks (which was one of my critiques last time so good job!). Keep it up, I love watching people improve the way you are
  5. I agree with the first two commenters, great song and super chill, but it lacks a good hook if thats what you're going for. If not, and you were just wanting a laid back, chill out tune, then you hit the spot. Keep it up man!
  6. Thanks Ken! Haha, you know, if I knew how to do that effect you are talking about, I totally would have... I just couldn't figure it out so I did it "manually" with my voice
  7. So for those of you who have been on this forum for some time, this is my third song and am exploring yet another genre. Its more "pop"ish, with a hint of Ed Sheeran, but also a nice bass line that gives it a dance-y vibe! Would love critique of the song as a whole!
  8. I love the accent of the rapper, and the lyrics aren't cheesy either! Well done!
  9. I enjoyed the song, its clean and catchy! If I'm looking for some constructive criticism to give, I would love to see a bit more vocal variation personally, like hitting higher notes and making more noticeable vocal inflections if that makes sense. You have a low voice which works well with the song, but those higher notes are the ones that leave the audience in awe.
  10. Hey Emily! I liked this song a lot!! I heard the other song you posted on here a while back and I like this one more! I think your song could benefit from just a touch of reverb and some focused echoes (like snipping the end of certain words and echoing only them). But structure-wise and performance-wise, its beautifully done!
  11. I'm shook, this should be on the front page of iTunes R&B haha . I think it sounds very professional and well produced. I'm a young set of ears among older people on here so I think if you're targeting youth, you're doing a good job! Might not be everyone's style but I love it, keep doing what you're doing!
  12. I know this isn't a great review of the song itself since I don't usually listen to this type of music, but it sounds like the song in the La La Land preview, so very well done, given how well that film did with awards and such
  13. Dude, I'm vibing to this, well done! I love right at about 0:55 where is picks up and pans, I think thats a nice thing that you added! I don't know how much structure there is (verse, chorus, etc.) but the sound of it is fantastic!!
  14. Wow @ImKeN, thank you for comparing me to David Archuleta... I consider that a huge compliment I am in the process of making more music and figuring out what I enjoy the most, but thank you for giving me a bit of direction about what you think might sound good with my voice All the best in your own work!
  15. REALLY like these lyrics, very original and seemingly personal. I would love to hear a rough demo of the song if you have one! I'm assuming this is more of a country/roots song but I like the track that you're on.
