    Licks

Not sure where to ask this, I have been roamin the net looking for licks and stumbled upon www.elickz.com it's a paid site and wonder if anyone has used it? If licks are cool cheaper than a book lol.
  2. Not sure rock, blues, not a song? lol https://soundcloud.com/user788849355/nobody-loves-me Excuse the background noise, woman wouldnt turn down the TV but I fell in a groove.

    Marc's Gear

    My toys.
  4. Don't make your rhythm too close to the melody, in key, complementry but separate. Learn the lyrics, sing them to your self and if your like me you'll start to hear bits of music as you sing, then spend four months trying to match it on your instrument
  5. When I'm just fiddling wanting to come up with a simple solo I'll do stuff like mixing up diddys.. for instance do a line of row row row your boat then twinkle twinkle little star. Hope you get what I'm saying lol. Also, knowing quite a few solos is a good arsonal of licks at your disposal.
  6. Try to find a nice old Carvin Quad X amp, they were early solidstate quality.
  7. Sweap picking and running scales alternate picking. I found, when I was into such Malmstienish ideas runing scales with a meteronome each day setting it a little faster helped my speed and accuracy alot. Hours of running scales, look out carpal tunnel.

    Guitar Effects

In the 80s I was rack crazy, still have an SGX, a quadraverb and a few other things gathering dust in a corner, now I just use a little rp250 hooked to my input on my computer more than anything else. Have a few sounds programmed that fit me. Had a Line6 but ended up still using my rp so ebayed it a few months back. I'm simple.
  9. I like riffinteractive, I've bought a few of thier cds. Automated tab, cool.
  10. I've never bought a kit but have ordered a guitar a peice at a time. Body from Warmoth, neck from Carvin,.. etc. Really as long as the kit is quality parts it is a big save money wise compaired to buying one whole. As long as the body is solid rather than plywood and the neck is straight your good to go. When my "guitar in instalments" was finaly complete it was very fulfilling the first time I banged out some power chords on a guitar I built. Being poor has it's benefits
