Vocal warm-up exercises are a great way to start your practice session or to prepare yourself before you sing. They can help you get ready to sing by loosening up your vocal cords and getting you in the right frame of mind. What warm-up exercises do you do before practicing or singing?

Here's a song I just finished! Wanted to see what you think It's called Tension It's about a psychopath girl that no one can resist. Hope you enjoy!

Hi guys, first post here. Question. Is the Audio-Technica AT 2020 a good mic to be using for harsh metal vocals? I just bought this thing and am new to recording equipment, so any feedback would be appreciated. Additionally, my budget for a mic currently is around 100-230$. Mic suggestions are welcome, and all that.

Hi everyone. This is my tribute to Kate Bush. She is an amazing artist and a free spirit and I did this one trying to feel free to follow my inspiration. Some of my friends think it is a very strange arrangement (thare are no guitars) but I love it. The singer is my friend Osva. The 2 sound engineers we work with did a wonderful job in my opinion. If you can find the time I would like to listen to your thoughts about it.

This is an alternative cover version of Your Song by Elton John. I made it at a time when I was wondering how those words would sound if I read them at the end of the relationship they were born for. Any comment is welcome.

This is a reworking of Because The Night (Springsteen). It's a collaboration with my friends VamVam. It may sound strange if you compare it to the original but to my ears it fits the mood of the lyrics. Or at least fits my mood when reading the lyrics

Hi everyone. This is our reworking of Mad World (Tears For Fears). It was born as a collaboration between me and my bass player. It's too melodic for the sound of our band so we decided to ask our friend Osva to sing it. Our friends sound engineers have suggested several improvements. In particular, the sound of initial arpeggio has been modified. It was a guitar and now it's a metallophone. As usual they were right. It sounds much better. Let's say that it has become a real collective work. Any comment is welcome as usual.

I wrote this cover of Foxy Lady a couple of years ago but we finished recording it last month. It was born for fun. At that time I was listening to a rock song by the band "Chevelle" entitled "Face to the Floor". And I thought it would have been nice to make "Foxy Lady" in that music style. The song is not suitable for the repertoire of my band. So I asked my friend Osva to sing it. In my opinion he did a great job. As usual, any feedback is more than welcome.

Hey there, First of all, I'm a bit intimidated by how good most of the covers are one here, but I figured that I should just give it a shot... I made a cover of Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire" (I didn't play the guitar myself - it's a karaoke song. And the recording isn't very professional as well...I used my phone for that.) I'm very passionate about singing, and I've been doing it since I was a toddler...I'd love to hear some opinions my voice. Thanks in advance!

I'm a guitarist ,keyboardist, vocalist, songwriter. 62 years old, been playing all my life, grew up with the Beatles and rock groups of the 70s. Played in bands a lot of my life in Myrtle Beach, SC and up and down the southern east coast. Started out playing lead guitar in groups in the 70s but also studying piano. Finally morphed into a pianist playing in church and then country rock bands in the late 80s-mid 90s. Mostly play honky tonk style piano today but still love playing Beatles, Stones, Zep, YES, Blues on guitar. Song writing all of my life , basically lyrics with a few decent pieces of music. I grew up in church so I know quite a bit about the bible and writing bible inspired lyrics is usually where I find myself comfortably creating . I also write love song lyrics and even a few blues inspired lyrics a bit on the naughty side. To me, regardless of the genre, music should be fun so I try to project that in all my music endeavors. I have a channel on YouTube under the name Gorzart. It's videos of me doing covers of Beatles, Elton John, etc. Also Gorzart is on FB. I've been involved in a few recordings with groups over the years but I'm trying real diligently to sell some songs to publishers and artists now before I run out of time. I'll be submitting some of my stuff here soon.

I'm so excited to share this because I've been looking for someone to sing this song with for forever, and I finally found him! If you're into gaming I recommend checking out my singing parters youtube channel. The hubby was so nice to put this video together for me Cause usually we try and do the most popular songs like top 40 stuff but he made an exception just so I could have a nice recording of this. I hope you like (Happy face)

How to make vocals not sound awful?
That GarfleeKid posted a topic in Music Production and Recording
I'm hoping this is the right section of the forum, if not please tell me. I've been wanting to get into songwriting for a while, but the biggest thing holding me back. At the moment, my voice is nasally and deep, and while I'm thinking about waiting a few years for my voice to mature, I thought I could use this to my advantage and write some really really amateur punk-ish songs. I'm not completely comfortable with it though, so I was wondering if there were any way to maybe "distort" it (not actually distort, I know how to do that, something to make it less noticeable that it is my voice). Either with equipment like a crappy mic or using effects is my guess, but I don't really know. Just please help. -
I hope you like, if you dont, please please tell me why. no one comments on our videos so when we get dislikes and whatnot we have NO IDEA what people dont like about it. feel free to check out the channel and comment here about other covers of ours. I would really love some feedback. and if you enjoy I hope you subscribe and share and all that stuff <3

What are your greatest influences? Do you prefer harmony vocals through most of a song or just in certain key parts? How do you come up with a good harmony line, and how do you know where to use it?

Hi all, I just have a quick question about a vocal technique: It's at 2:24, 2:32 and 3:54, It sounds like a falsetto but it has some weight to it. Thanks in advance, Ken

ok so i just recorded this really quick. i would really appreciate some advice on setting up and recording vocals, before i record it properly. so what steps did i follow recording 1. i set asio to 128 samples 2. i insert my mic into stereo 1 and 2 in this case. sometimes just into one insert then i pan the vocals with fl balance and a plugging called ADT 3. PUT IN MY BEAT 4. add fx to mix the vocals , im learning to be subtle with it and add final touches after the record because it cant be undone once recorded 5. i record 6.i add a light mix and then i export i'm not sure what level the mic should be etc aswell basically i need a crash course
