  1. My name is Theoren, people mostly call me Author. I'm a 22 year old who just got a BOFA in Vocal Performance this May. I write piano based compositions but also acoustic singer/songwriter stuff. I work out of my home and I'm also a writer. I have written, produced, and directed 2 theatre plays. It's nice to meet you all and I look forward to sharing compositions with you!
  2. I made music using the crying laughing emoji! 😂 This is my first attempt at creating a MIDI drawing that actually sounds good. It ended up being an epic orchestral piece with jazzy chords! What do you think? 👌🏼💯🔥
  3. Hey guys! My name is Nikos, and I am a lyricist from Greece. I am writing since 2011, and have since released songs with various singers, within various genres, and from various countries. My aim is to collaborate with as many composers and producers as possible. Music is a passion of mine, which I can't live without. Since 2013, I am annually pitching songs of mine to various countries across Europe, for the annual Eurovision Song Contest. Of course, working on the Eurovision Song Contest is not the only direction I head towards. Songs of mine have been released in Romania, Belarus, Sweden, Malta, Slovenia, Moldova, with new opportunities and projects in the making. When it comes to what style of music I work on, my answer always is, in each style possible. Personally I am a big fan of Blues, Rock, and Metal music, but when it comes to songwriting, I also have worked on Pop, Pop/Rock, Dance, and Ballads. So, as you can see I don't stick to a specific style of music, but prefer working in different styles, as I also like the excitement of working on something new and different. I hope that I will be able to find several collaborators on Songstuff, with whom I can work on some great songs for great artists. Here are all my released songs to date (which always gets updated with every new release): Hope to hear from you people soon! Nikos
  4. "Hey, can you come play my party for free beer?!" "If you come play guitar for me for $50 this time there will be more gigs to follow!" "Do you have some unlicensed or royalty free music I can use for my video?" "I can pay you in (insert social media platform) more followers if you do this for me." Knowing one's value or worth is the best advice I could ever give anybody wanting to jump in this crazy music industry...OK, the end!! Whew, thank goodness you don't have to read anymore! Seems so simple, right? Monetarily speaking, knowing your worth can be an incredible advantage to your career, or not knowing what your "product's" value is can be a horrible disservice to you and your fellow colleagues. This is what I mean. What we do in the music industry whether it be a song writer, jingle composer, player, artist, manager, booking agent, etc. is entirely different than any corporate structure set in any other genre of business. There is no infrastructure to evaluate how much you should be making on a global scale. There isn't a chart on the internet to tell you how much you should be making. That certainly would make it a lot easier. From what I've learned, culture and the city you live in seem to set a standard. Granted I can only speak as an American understanding the evaluation process in music. Los Angles, New York, and Nashville are what I call the big 3. From there I would say the next tier cities could be an Austin, Texas or a New Orleans, Louisiana for example. But the big three usually set the trends in the largest commercialized music markets (Pop, Rock, and Country). They also have more opportunities in all areas of music as well. How much should I charge for my services? It all depends on your culture, city, and what will you gain out of it. In Nashville, a guitar player hired to play some songs have a pretty standard base rate of a local show getting paid $150 and if there is travel involved no less than $200. But I've excepted gigs for a lot less. Even $50! In corporate business suit and tie world they would ridicule you for taking a 75% cut. I don't blame them. Let that percentage sink in. I didn't know what I was doing was undermining a system that would devalue and under appreciate a player that would be well deserved of a base pay of $150. Integrity in the market place is a concept that , in monetary terms, people will know what to expect. Consistency if you will and it even sets a bar predicated to a system that can establish tiers. For example, do those local shows for $150 and when you have the street credit eventually you can make the jump up to $200, then $225, and then so on, and so on!!! Your culture may have something set in place. Maybe? Maybe not? Isn't it funny? Do you ever wonder if somebody slapped a sign on your back that says "will work for free" instead of "kick me!" Know your worth. Set a standard. Educate yourself from other musicians/writers/engineers/blah/blah/ bah. Let those that have walked that path mentor you. Help your community by establishing that your vocation as a creative is important to be worth given money. I had a coffee with a friend when I first started traveling to Nashville. I expressed that I didn't know my value or even when should I take a gig. I still use this rule to this day and I absolutely love it, and I think it applies here. After he mentioned base rates in Nashville he ended the subject by saying, "Two out of three ain't bad." 1. Is the money good? 2. Do you like the music? 3. Are they good people or are they fun to hang out with? "If you can say yes to at least two of those...two out of three ain't bad."
  5. Hello! I'm an amateur composer(with many years of experience though) that is up for a partnership with you! If you for example have a Youtube channel that needs music, I'm the guy that can help you. Contact me and let's talk about it more. Here's a sample of my work: Utopia - Surf the clouds
  6. Hi. I'm Taehan from South Korea where the president has been impeached. I majored classical composition and now, work at a game dev. company as a Sound designer. The reason why I'm here is to share music and talk each other. I could make some mistakes in my grammers or words because I'm not good in English yet. However, I take English lessons on the phone these days... I will be better soon Thanks for reading.
  7. Hello, my name is Ronaldo and I am a Brazilian songwriter with a few songs released commercially, plus some independent tracks available (most of them through collaborations I was able to find here in this forum). I'm starting a project with some colleagues called Sharp Radar. Our goal is to connect songwriters and singers and make great music together. A lot of times, people have something with huge potential in their hands (either lyrics, music or a voice...), but can't find other people who might have the parts they are missing. We believe that internet should be a very powerful tool to allow this type of collaborations to come true and we think this project brings the vision, the focus and the organization to accomplish that. It is a quest for synergy, above all. In this first stage of the project, we are building a close team of songwriters, who will, later, create music for/with the singers we will bring to the project (chosen by the songwriters themselves, as this will work as a collective). We are currently finishing our web site, where you can find all the details about how we plan this to work: I know there are many lyricists here (being one myself), so I would like to point out that we certainly have space for top-line writers (those who write lyrics over pre-existing music). Whether you are a songwriter, a producer or a top-line writer, feel free to get in touch. If you might have any questions or would like to know anything else about the project, feel free to ask and I will answer as soon as possible. You can ask here in the forum, send me a personal message, contact us by the website... Looking forward to hear from the great community we have here!
  8. Hello! My name is Oliver, I'm a composer. I have written music, since I was 14 years old. I compose songs in different style, and with many instruments. If you are interested in my songs, check my soundcloud, or youtube profile! Check out my patreon profile! youtube: soundcloud:
  9. I usually hum on my android mobile anytime during the day, and then try to play and write the notes (not the chords) roughly on a music sheet. The humming consists of key lyrical words/phrases which need to be worked out by a co-writer lyricist. Also, a pro pianist need to come up with the key chords and maybe a riff. So, I am looking for a lyricist and a pianist (or lyricist/pianist if we are lucky!). I am ready to share the credits equally between the two or three co-writers (melody, lyrics, and chords). My genre is rock, pop, and R&B. I am an Armenian based in Thailand for the past 5 years (and don’t ask me why and how!). I wonder if we can co-write without meeting. In case you listen to my melodies and believe that we can be successful, jump on the next plane to Bangkok and stay in our villa in Chaiyaphum Province until the project is over (food and accommodation on my behalf but you need to cover your return air ticket expenses). Take care and welcome to Thailand.

  11. Hi everyone My name is Edward Bryant and I own and operate Dreamweaver Studios near Seattle Washington. I love composing and performing all sorts of music and most of all I love to collaborate with other artists. I heard about this site from other members I've collaborated with via Soundcloud (hello Gry and David ) and signed up in hopes of meeting and collaborating with new artists. I'll be lurking about the forums so be prepared =)
  12. Greetings! I'm a songwriter but not a performer (other than an occasional open mic). I'd like to write for band. Here are a few of my latest songs. They're a little rough, but like I said, I'm not a performer. My style is Americana/country/folk/roots rock... The Well Runs Dry Lead or Gold Oreanna I have more that are in the works and am fairly prolific. Please contact me if you are interested in collaborating. Ben
  13. Hi everyone I'm a songwriter from the UK writing a lot of material in the 'new Nashville' style right now. I've been in and out the music business since the age of 14 as an artist, manager, radio promoter, writer and producer (including a period as in-house producer at Gary Numan's former recording studio Rock City). I managed a Kent based band called OUCH for some time who had three top tens with Sony in Japan and have co-written with a few people you may have heard of lol! These days, after a break of almost 20 years from the music biz, I returned to my first love - songwriting and have perhaps written some of the best music of my career to date, and more for fun than profit! (Perhaps that's the reason lol) But now, I have decided I need to pay the rent, and have started pitching my material again! So there you go, that's me - HELLO! Somerset Songwriter & Cider Drinker
  14. I live in Las Cruces, New Mexico and I am looking for musicians to form a band with. I sing and play lead guitar. I'd love to find a rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, drummer and bassist. I prefer you live within 50 miles of me. I have a big car for lugging equipment, but gas money is something I usually don't have. My hard rock influences are Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. My pop influences are Michael Jackson and Prince. I love all kinds of music, but these guys are my main influences when it comes to writing music. If you are interested please reply!
  15. Hi. As the topic stated, my name is Matt. My full name is Matthew Miramontes and I am a lover of music. I have been actively writing music for the past 5 years and singing for the past 3. My style is...difficult to describe. I have tons of influences ranging from hard rock to pop. My hopes are to come here and find a scene where my music and I belong. I write hard rock as well as pop songs. I made the shift to hard rock just recently with my latest release. I am tired of asking my friends and family for feedback when they have no true appreciation for what I do. I really want to make new friends and to join new circles where my music will actually be heard! If you all will have me, I'd like to stay! (I know I write dramatically, it's just how I am! )
  16. Hi all. I am new to the forums and wanted to share my work with you all! This is the first track on an upcoming album I am calling: "Dehumanize." This is my third album ever written and my first hard rock album. The others were dark synthpop. Please tell me what you think!
  17. Hi! I'm a 20 years old musician, I play guitar, bass and drums and I've been writing songs since I was 14. I'm looking for a lyricist because, even if I do have some things to say, my English is not so good for writing lyrics because my first language is Italian (and, for various reasons, I don't want Italian lyrics for my music). So, I have music without lyrics; if someone else has lyrics without music it would be great to put them together. My dream is to do a long lasting collaboration with someone who is as into punk rock music as me. So, angry/protest lyrics are welcome, but love or reflective or even nonsense lyrics are gladly accepted too. I'd like to point out that music is my biggest passion and I don't do it with the aim of making money out of it. Of course, it would be even better if that will happen, but if it is what you're looking for, then you might want to see other topics. Now, to let you understand what kind of punk rock I listen to, here are the names of some of the bands I love:

  20. Hi, everyone. I'm Chuck and I'm new here. I've been writing music for a long time now, but my efforts have always been stifled by the fact that I only rarely manage to come up with lyrics that I'm happy with to complete the songs (instrumental music has never really been my thing). So, I'd like to see if I can be more productive with somebody else handling the lyrics. Stylewise I make rock music. Just to name an example people should be familiar with, think along the lines of the Foo Fighters. If anybody is interested or has questions of any sort drop me a line. Edit: I've created a SOundcloud page with some music: There are two oroginals of mine, but they are a few years old and the production could use some cleaning up. There are also two covers, which are a bit more recent. Link:

  22. Hey guys! I've been writing lyrics for a couple years but I can't seem to compose the music successfully. Inbox me if you would like to go over the details. I write an array of genres and I am open to ideas!
  23. Hello friends, I'm from Brazil and I'm starting as a singer, I'm needing help to translate and adapt a song in Portuguese to English. This music is of singer Ivo Mozart feat. Pollo, the name of the song is Vagalumes (Fireflies in English). I'll just need to adapting the chorus and the bridge, the part that sings rap is not need. The lyrics of the music in English: (Chorus) I'll hunt more than a million fireflies around, To see you smile I can color the sky of another color, I just wanna love you, And when dawn I want to wake up, on your side (Bridge) Do from your arms a safer place, I sought peace in another hug not found I swear I leave the compasses, step trouble that comes, I open the window for you to see... Thank you for your attention...

  25. Hello all! I'm an independent composer from New York City, who enjoys the multiple layers of creating music. I have become quite adept in music theory for a while now, and I've written music for orchestras and the like. I also enjoy writing songs and lyrics, which are usually only played by a guitar, and of course my voice. I don't have the greatest voice ever, I'll tell you that, but I do put a lot of work into my lyrics and chord progressions. I have a multitude of different types of music available via YouTube and SoundCloud, but I figure I won't include those links here, since I'm just getting to know you all. I'm sort of new to the whole forum idea, but I've been growing pretty active in this other forum I joined years ago so I figure why just stop there? A good and more personal place to get to know my music would be at my website, which is There, I have all the links to the songs I've written and MIDI versions of the songs I've composed. If you'd check it out, that would be wonderful, but I don't blame you if it's not your first priority! There must be millions of people on here asking you to do the same thing, haha. I'm just hoping to get to communicate with other musicians for some feedback and help at developing things more. I also want to get my stuff out there. The reason the name of it is ammiraticreations and not just ammiratimusic is because I am also a writer and am coming on to the final stages of my first book. It's pretty similar to writing music, I'd say, just more on the long, and I mean very long side. It took forever to get 70,000 words. I have the greatest respect for authors now. I also write poetry, which is probably why I enjoy writing lyrics so much. I would be more than willing and able to help anyone who needs a composer to their lyrics, or vice versa, or just wants some help in building a good chord progression. Believe it or not, that sort of stuff intrigues me so I'm pretty nerdy about it. I'd love to help anyone who needs help in that respect. You just need to promise to show me how it turns out! Well, that's it, I hope for many days of conversation and learning on this forum. It's great to be here!
