  1. I made music using the crying laughing emoji! 😂 This is my first attempt at creating a MIDI drawing that actually sounds good. It ended up being an epic orchestral piece with jazzy chords! What do you think? 👌🏼💯🔥
  2. I was thinking that maybe it would be nice to have a “(just for fun) topic/ thread” were we post our own (or cover of a) “guilty pleasure song”. A song you did write (or play) but does not really fit into your repertoire (because it is to commercial or the lyrics are filled with clichés or…) But you “kinda like” anyway. You know “guilty pleasure”. So let’s see what happens when I start this: Mine is called “Just An Other Hit The Road Song”. It’s a song with a kinda reggae feel in it (and I do not do reggae). It is filed with clichés and I even have copy/paste the line “Hit the road Jack and don’t you come back no…” in it. I think that is more than enough reason to feel guilty about this song. The pleasure? It makes me happy. I challenge you all to post yours... if you dare.
  3. Hi Guys This came to me while I was driving to a job which was about a 2 hour drive. Not much tweaking from what I got on the road. I've been doing a collaboration with someone that has been quite a mental challenge and this came as a little light relief lol! Hope you enjoy and any and all comments welcome good or bad. Have fun Les I Believe In UFO’s © Les Service 2016 All rights reserved V I was outside the other night There was a bright light in the sky It seemed to be winking at me Like some heavenly cosmic eye V It stayed there for quite a while I stood completely mesmerized It winked at me one last time Before it streaked across the sky C I believe in UFO’s I didn’t before but I do now Never thought I would see one Holy Crap! Holy Cow! 4. Hey guys! Been away for a bit with hhe start of school. Being I'm education, I have to choose my spots. Anyway, always wanting to get thoughts, critiques, and so on! (Chorus) I just hit a triple with a stranger. I rounded those bases like I played for the Texas rangers. I struck out three times in my first three at bats. Now I'm standing on third. Watch'a think about that? I just hit a triple with a stranger. (V1) My major league denim uniform makes me an all-star. My favorite place to take my swings is here at this bar. I don't feel bad at all about not scoring at home. Standing on third's better than being alone. 'Cause I just hit a triple with a stranger. (Chorus) I just hit a triple with a stranger. I rounded those bases like I played for the Texas rangers. I struck out three times in my first three at bats. Now I'm standing on third. Watch'a think about that? I just hit a triple with a stranger. (V2) It's all about your approach at the plate. You can't expect too much if your game is second rate. Can't hang up the cleats after a swing and a miss. Gotta keep swinging the bat to get more than a kiss. And I just hit a triple with a stranger. (Chorus) I just hit a triple with a stranger. I rounded those bases like I played for the Texas Rangers. I struck out three times in my first three at bats. Now I'm standing on third. Watch'a think about that? I just hit a triple with a stranger. Repeat chorus
  5. Hi everybody, This is a song that wouldn't really go with the current "album" I've been working on but it was just so darn fun to do that I couldn't resist letting you all give it a listen. I would still love to hear any critiques because I'm trying to learn better recording skills and you have all been extremely helpful on my other songs. Critique anything that bugs or tickles you! I value each and every opinion. Rickie Willie was a young boy from middle Tennessee Made money runnin' moonshine back in 1933 They say he learned to drive when he was 6 years old His Daddy was the first to call him "Rabbit" we are told He'd go ooooooh weeeeee! Mamma look at Rabbit go! Well Rabbit had the fastest car around 4 wheels and an engine barely kept it on the ground Driving was to Rabbit, like lightning is to bugs He'd fill his trunk with moonshine, give his Mamma a big hug Hell bent for heaven, son Thunder rollin' through the hills, white lightnin' on the run You won't ever catch the Rabbit, no Ooooooh weeeeee! Mamma look at Rabbit go! Well Willie's name was quickly makin' hillbilly lore When they ended prohibition back in 1934 His Daddy took a paintbrush, put numbers on that car Now Willie's kickin' ass at every racetrack near and far Hell bent for heaven, son Thunder rollin' through the hills, white lightnin' on the run You won't ever catch the Rabbit, no Ooooooh weeeeee! Mamma look at Rabbit go! Ooooooh weeeeee! Mamma look at Rabbit go! There he goes... He's gone
  6. Hi guys, Here's a fun little gypsy/ragtime tune, about jamming in a little community north of town, called Lund I still need to re-record the horn and some vocals, but I hope you enjoy, and thanks for listening I would love some advice on the mix, production, arrangement, performance and anything else that you amazing peeps might notice that's not quite working https://soundcloud.com/crystalsuzy/maggis-living-room-3 Driving out to Lund, we’re gonna party In Maggi’s living room, a little north of town We’re gonna do some jamming, well into the night In a funky hippie haven, that’s really out of sight First we share a potluck, of food that’s so tasty And that’s a tricky business, with all the allergies Some can have no dairy; others can’t eat soy Many can’t have gluten, of their guts will make a noise! Maggi’s living room, is the place to be To trip the light fandango, in harmony A bipp’n and a bopp’n on the endless sea Ya, Maggi’s living room, is the place to be Sometimes there’s a fire, a fire on the beach Where our favorite topic, is philosophy Some they smoke the ganja, other just drink beer Some of us need nothing, with a contact high so near! CHORUS RAP! Sometimes we laugh, we laugh so hard that it makes our Sphincters quiver! Which takes us on a really far out trip that Would really make you shiver! As spirits spark in ecstatic Delight, we loose control as our minds unit, in a frantic fantasy. We trip to other realms with no one at the helm, into ecstasy! SOLO BRIDGE Maggi’s living room, is a very special place, where kindred Spirits create a sacred space. On a crystal ship, in a sea of stars, Sailing to discover, just who we are. Now it’s time to get down, down to playing tunes So we tune our guitars, our banjo’s and out flutes As piano, drums and vocals, start grooving to the beat Spontaneous combustion is a possibility! Now we’re really soaring, as the music finds its soul We all become united, in one big salad bowl Delicate expressions, begin to mix and stir And then our own rendition of ‘rock lobster’! KAZZOO SOLO CHORUS
  7. Hi all, just a bit of fun but open to critique if you have any suggestions. Bryan if you read this its the happy song I said I would post to get you out of your darker lyrical phase lol! Hope you enjoy and my rendition is not the best but enjoyed trying as usual. I heard the intro as a crowd repeating each line after the singer. 9. Hey guys, So I've been working on the music for "Dark Omen... You Can't Run" For quite some time. (Song I posted lyrics for way, way back. (Check my content if you want to see the original thread I made) And well, it's undergone a lot of changes, some that I'm still working on. I wanted to know what you guys thought of this portion for the "You Can't Run" Section of the song. I just want to know if you guys think Im going in the right direction, if so, then I can finish putting a full complete demo of this with my band up this Friday or Saturday. The music just came to me one day natural and Ive had the main chunk of the feel for about a year. Its just stumped me. I hope you guys enjoy. CAUTION: Track mixed rather loud, at least on my PC, just be sure not to blast your ears, might be unpleasant lol. https://soundcloud.com/ishred4life/darkomendemoriff Any and all feedback is welcome
  10. Hi Guys, After my last post(Mucus BloB) I think it's time for a little happy upbeat reggae love song It's been a bit of a mixing nightmare for me, and at this point, I don't know up from down Any advice is much appreciated and I hope you enjoy and it makes you feel happy https://soundcloud.com/crystalsuzy/dancing-in-the-light Dancing in the light, cause my baby’s eyes keep shining on me Dancing in the light, cause my baby’s eyes keep shining on me When my life is getting me down, my baby is picking me up When there’s darkness all around, my baby is lighting it up Cause we don’t sweat the little stuff so our life is OK No we don’t sweat the little stuff so we make it through the day Dancing in the light, cause my baby’s eyes keep shining on me Dancing in the light, cause my baby’s eyes keep shining on me We can sing and dance all day and well into the night We know how to work and play, ya we can do it right Cause we don’t sweat the little stuff so our life is OK No we don’t sweat the little stuff so we make it through the day Without my baby my life would be Like a fish without an ocean, or forest without a tree Like a ghost without a haunt, or land without the sea Like a song without a singer, or honey without sweet Dancing in the light, cause my baby’s eyes keep shining on me Dancing in the light, cause my baby’s eyes keep shining on me Our love is like a lava lamp, bubbling up with bliss Bouncing off each other and touching with a kiss Cause we don’t sweat the little stuff so our life is OK No we don’t sweat the little stuff so we make it through the day Dancing in the light, cause my baby’s eyes keep shining on me Dancing in the light, cause my baby’s eyes keep shining on me....
  11. Hi all, heres one that I came up with and wondered what your thoughts are? Its just for fun but open to suggestions, I have made a recording of how its meant to be heard or close anyway. I will probably regret posting this LOL! apologies for the singing. Thanks for the read and listen Les My Perfect Woman ©LGS 2014 V I've traveled all around this world If there’s a lesson that I've learned Women make no sense to me I'm always getting burned I try to treat them decent like I'm courteous, polite and kind Seems fate has got it in for me Oh will I ever find? C My perfect woman I know she’s out there I'm just running out of places to try My perfect woman I only want to share My heart with you until the day I die V Oh Susie Woo she was a favorite I met her in old Shanghai She told me that she loved me As she looked me in the eye The last time I saw Susie She was leaving me behind Driving off with another man Oh will I ever find Chorus V Spent 3 weeks in London town I didn’t want that time to end Met a woman called Lady Jane She drove a Mercedes Benz She showed me all the city sites Every night we wined and dined But like the rest she flew the nest Oh will I ever find? Chorus V I met a beauty in Bangkok And that’s all we ever did She took me to another level She really flipped my sexual lid Every night she wore me out I had to say goodbye this time I couldn’t keep up the pace Oh will I ever find Chorus Bridge I’ll keep searching these foreign lands Sail the seas and walk the sands Ride the bus from coast to coast Maybe my perfect woman Is just a perfect ghost?
  12. I wanted to post this song for crituqe, I was not sure if it was too repetitive or not. it sounds cool when I sing it to my self but would love to hear other thoughts. It's about praying for that special someone, and we you met them you feel like you know them already because it's what you prayed for. Before we were- By Amy Abernathy CC 2013 The first time I met you, I never saw you before. But I knew you were familiar, When you walked through the door. It’s no coincidence, that I met you, And God had made our prayers come true. Because…………… Before we were, you were there. Before I knew you, you were there. Not by body, but by prayer. So before we were, you were there. God knew what I needed, And planned it from the start. He knew the perfect one, To capture my heart. You were there, Before I knew you. You’re the one I prayed for. God knew us both And opened the door. It’s no coincidence, that I met you, And God had made our prayers come true. Because…………… Before we were, you were there. Before I knew you, you were there. Not by body, but by prayer. So before we were, you were there. You were there. You were there, You’re the answer to my prayers. Before we were, you were there. Yes he knew me, He knew me well. You’re the answer To my prayers. Before I knew you, you were there. Written By Amy Abernathy CC 2013 to Amy Abernathy
  13. Merry Christmas, Here's a song I'm messing around with. It's bare bones and could probably use some filling out. Any comments on the songwriting, arrangement, production, or otherwise are appreciated. As always, kick my butt. I need it. https://soundcloud.com/spadanny/ring-a-bell harmony vocal remix with new lead vocal https://soundcloud.com/spadanny/ring-a-bell-remixed The final (hopefully though do critique please) mix of this song. After consideration I decided to rerecord all of the vocals and add some keys. I also changed the line "do you ride a yellow bike" to "do you drive a yellow car" to eliminate confusion about the age of the narrator/singer. Thanks to Skyhammer for pointing that out. Made some other tweaks but I wont bore you. Let me know what you think if you have 2 and half minutes. As always thanks for the feedback! https://soundcloud.com/spadanny/ring-a-bell-2014-re-remixed Hello how are you I think we might have met before maybe I've seen you at the dollar store Do you ride a yellow bike, did you go to summer camp do you know a guy named ray that has a lava lamp I remember you out of the blue You ring a bell, do I know you well You ring a bell in my heart You ring a bell, do I know you well You ring a bell, think I love you wait a minute before you go you know it's not every day that you meet someone and you gotta say I think you were in a book I read or a novel that I said I was gonna write sometime, but I never did I remember you out of the blue you ring a bell, do I know you well you ring a bell, in my heart, you ring a bell, do I know you well you ring a bell, think I love you ring out ring out ring out ring out And if we never get together We can just say well whatever You ring a bell you ring a bell, do I know you well you ring a bell
  14. Hey guys, I'm an independent artist from Geneva, Switzerland and just wanted to share with you my debut single "Are You Ready?" and its video clip. This song is about being young and careless while we still can. It's good to let go even if it's just for a moment. Raise your glass, forget the past! Hope you like the music video and the song! I'm looking forward to making more!
  15. Hello, I am a new member. I mainly play Alto Sax, I would call myself intermediate at playing. I am looking for a community to discuss musical ideas with, and this looked like a great place to do just that. I live in Florida, US. Hello!
  16. Here's a rock-n-roll duet called Stranded. The recording is still being tweaked, but we're pretty happy with the song itself, and would love to get some feedback. http://soundcloud.com/ofcoursenot/stranded This is my lucky day Take me far away If you're playing, I'll go first This is my lucky day (For sure) Nothing's gone my way But I've seen things go worse Could you stay awake just a little longer? Feels like I'm drifting (Don't you go drifting) I'll rest for just a while Don't you disappear, don't you leave me here Well, I feel closer every mile We're in the same boat now I'm as happy as I'll ever be To live inside a tragedy The same boat now And as long as this thing's sinking... I'm keeping you with me!, I'm drenched from head to toe right now Freezing from the inside out It's ironic, but the rain comes down The one time I don't need it I need, I need, I NEED to know... How can I eat this slice alone? Let it be, let it be Your luck just seems to Kum And Go We're in the same boat now I'm as happy as I'll ever be To live inside a tragedy The same boat now And as long as this thing's sinking... I'm keeping you with me!, Tell me, when's the last time you weren't singing AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS? Fortune's decided...I'm stranded and I LIKE IT. We're in the same boat now I'm as happy as I'll ever be To live inside a tragedy The same boat now And as long as this thing's sinking... Take my hand, I'm sinking! Let it be! This is my lucky day! This is my turning page! Don't leave me AAA'd! 'Cause it's my lucky day!
  17. Hello I'm Uncle Diesel (Mike) I'm from NH, I've been writing lyrics all my life and I have accumulated over a 1000 songs , I feel that 10 are solid song's with lots of potential. Lately to satisfy my never ending need to write, I started to write parody's (mostly sport's parody's) about Local New England Teams. I've had success getting on several radio shows in The Boston area, The Sports Hub 98.5 to name one. I enjoy the Parody song creation , but I really feel I have so much more to give. I need a Musician that I can collaborate with, and take there music and join My lyrics into. I want to work as a 50/50 team, and together find that diamond in the ruff that just might be there. I'm not a great singer but I'm good enough to convey the emotional substance of the song.I just want to write the words. I'm looking for Rock or Blue's music. If anyone want's to give it a shot, E mail me at( unclediesel2@gmail.com ) Thank You, Uncle Diesel (Mike)
  18. I must be in a minor rant mode. Air Guitar. WTF is that all about? Please tell me they don't think they look cool? I would have thought family and friends would have done the decent thing, slapped them on the back of the head and simply said "MUPPET!". Ok, it started in the 70s/80s with headbanging on the dance floor, but competitions? It's like volunteering to wear a t-shirt saying "Asshole" on it. Why is this in the fun category? Because,a lthough horrified, I can't stop laughing at them. Well I can, but lets just say every time I see it I can't NOT laugh! Too all air guitarist wannabes I'd say, learn the real instrument. It's way cooler.
  19. i've just seen some more on the TV. these dudes are nutters, and to be honest so are the people who cheer them on from the crowd, tho i'm guessing they are probably just the same people waiting their turn lol. I just DON'T GET IT! Maybe if they called it "Look Like A Twat".....
