  1. I made music using the crying laughing emoji! 😂 This is my first attempt at creating a MIDI drawing that actually sounds good. It ended up being an epic orchestral piece with jazzy chords! What do you think? 👌🏼💯🔥

  4. Seven Ages

This is a folk song ...I think... with added drums, bass and orchestra. Perhaps I can call it a folkestra song. Comments on any aspect of the song are welcome, but I only have control over the drums, bass, orchestra and the mix. NOTE: this has been updated after comment #9 with less orchestra reverb, more drums and vocal reverb and a slight change to the entry of the strings in the 2nd verse. Sorry but no change to the guitar yet. Seven Ages
  5. The Lighthouse - 2015 Version

This is a song I originally worked on back in 2011. I wanted to re-work it and use the knowledge of mixing and orchestration I've gained over the last 4 years. I'm not responsible for the vocals or piano, just the orchestra and mixing. I'm interested in any and all comments as always but specifically interested in comments on the quality of the mix and the orchestration. The Lighthouse
  6. Digital Orchestra Soundtrack

Greetings from Czech Republic! I created digital orchestra on Renoise in order to perform musically "the hopeless feeling" in the time of darkness. Basically, it is meant to be soundtrack for a non-existant movie where a hero is fighting with himself and his dark past, because people behaved badly to him. The song has sadness and darkness combined within. Let's say I was trying to be a composer here and you are the ones who can judge my work. I used many instruments to describe his feelings. In the first part, from 0:00 to 0:58, the hero is falling under the burdon of his sad past and can't manage this, from 0:58 to 1:36 bad things happen to him because he couldn't handle this and got mad, however from 1:40 he got back to normal state, because there was the view of the beautiful field, the Nature in his mind calmed him down, that made him sad, of course, somewhat nostalgy feeling, from 2:30 he wished to merge with nature because it amazed him. 4:06 finally signifies that he couldn't make it and ended up mad. If I were to say something by this song, it would be: "never lose hope, go for it, risk and live, don't fear, for it is all just in your head, merge with the Nature and you won't regret..." I will be so much grateful for feedbacks. Enjoy!
  7. I haven't posted a song here for a while so here's something I've been working on a little bit at a time for a while. The piano part was played and composed by Gustavo Lopez. I added everything else and did the mixing. Red Nose (NOTE: the song has been updated between comment #11 and #12 ) Let me know what you think. Paul

  11. Words Get In The Way

As usual, I'm not the song writer nor the singer, but I contributed to the song. This is a song about song writing and the struggle between the lyrics and the melody. Sometimes you have to change the music to suit the lyrics, sometimes you have to change the lyrics to suit the music Words Get In The Way I'm responsible for the drums (check out the drum soloing just past the mid point of the song), the orchestra, and some creative mixing and editing to cut the raw tracks I was given into what you hear. I invite all comments. Even if I don't apply a comment to this song, it can still be (and has been) useful for future songs.
  12. Promise - Instrumental

This started out as a 1 minute piano piece written by Sean Simmons that was mostly just piano chords. I edited the piano track to more than double the piano part, with more editing, I added an ending (piano echo at the end), then I added my tracks. This is a little quiet and gentle until the intro is done. After the intro this, has a rock beat, with lead melodies played by strings and brass instruments. Promise Let me know what you think.
  13. Playing With Aumumn Leaves - Video

I posted this song not long ago, but now I have a YouTube slide show video to go with it so I thought I'd post it again to catch some new eyes and ears and for anyone interested in hearing it again when accompanied by the video. Watch on YouTube
  14. Annie's Song

I learned to play this simple piano arrangement of John Denver's "Annie's Song" many years ago and thought I'd try recording it with a full orchestral accompaniment. This is my orchestrated instrumental version: Annie's Song All comments are welcomed.
  15. Dream Vision (Updated Version)

Another song I'd like to put up for review: Dream Vision There is a lot going on in this song. We originally performed this back in high school but without the benefit of an orchestra or backup singers that are now part of this song. My music partner Dave is responsible for song writing, singing and playing piano. I'm responsible for the percussion, the orchestra and the mixing. All comments are appreciated. EDIT: A new version (along with the old version) is now available at the above link
