  1. I'm by no means a pianist, but my professors said this suite is in fact, playable. I am having issues with several songs that I'm not sure how to remedy I used several composition tools to bring forth certain characteristics (I.E. scales to represent Libra but also soothing melody) I based this on my research into the zodiac signs. The opposite signs are also related to each other melodically, which made composing Virgo and Pisces quite difficult. I hope you enjoy it but I eagerly await critique. Since there are 12 Songs I've supplied a link to my soundcloud instead of uploading them all. https://soundcloud.com/tfauthor/sets/zodiac-suite
  2. Teng is the name of my dog who 13 years old. Nowadays, I can feel that his life is not much long anymore. So I made this piece for memorial of our beautiful days. I will remember you Teng...
  3. Here's one I tracked last night. I had intended to call it something with Azure in the title, but I realized there's a video game out called " Azure Dreams". I decided to call it " Press On" instead. I thought the mood seemed to fit a kind of struggle going on. I listened to it on the way to work and it seemed a little loud for this genre, I listened on headphones and it seems to have a bit of a bite in it around the 3-5K. Is it just me or do you hear it too? It seems worse on my headphones than with open speakers. Thanks!
  4. ********* Hi all - I have added an updated version of the song within the topic and left the original here if anyone wants to listen to it... Cheers ******** Hi all - it's a bit quiet in here at the moment. Finally managed to find time to sit down and try and come up with something new - started this today. I like the little middle 8 (**cough**) bit and would like to work out how to get it to fit, as it sticks out like a sore thumb at the moment. Just looking for feedback and crits on music and lyrics. Also on how the mix is sounding at the moment. Cheers https://soundcloud.com/moodman-1/midnight-hour-24022017-2235/s-TN04a MIDNIGHT HOUR (music/lyrics by Richard Tracey) V1 How do you say you're sorry When there's nothing left to say Do you feel your life has been complete When you've given it all away V2 All the questions needing answers Are just left there in the wind All the righteous and the pious Take no notice that you've sinned CHORUS In the Midnight Hour You will come alive In the Midnight Hour You'll block out all the cries In the Midnight Hour The truth is clear to see In the Midnight Hour Is when you are truly free V3 All the things you're thinking They don't make sense to me All the battles you have lost Resigned to history But still a twinkle Is burning in your eyes No time to dwell on A life built on all your lies CHORUS In the Midnight Hour You will come alive In the Midnight Hour You'll block out all the cries In the Midnight Hour The truth is clear to see In the Midnight Hour Is when you are truly free
  5. Hi all, came up with this little piano piece tonight. Quite like it, but not sure whether to keep as an instrumental or go for a vocal production. This is one take, which is why there is a little mistake during the playing. Any critique would be much appreciated... Cheers Richard ------------ ignore the 1 minute space at the end.. Logic added this on for some stupid reason!!!! https://soundcloud.com/moodman-1/joy-09022017-1953/s-nj7xJ
  6. Hi. It's the first time I write a topic. please leave your comment freely. Thanks.
  7. Hey everyone, Been working on recording an EP for quite some time now to little avail so decided to finally get things into gear and tried doing it myself instead. I'm aware that some timing, phrasing, and pitching is a bit off, and production value is pretty low quality in general since it's just a quick do-up on my home equipment, nothing special (will probably just use it as a demo to get recorded better elsewhere), but would love any and all feedback, especially regarding the song! https://soundcloud.com/joshmaier/home-demo-1/s-lk3OE Thanks in advance, lemme know your thoughts and hope you enjoy! c: Lyrics: Verse 1 Should I walk through the door Into the streets outside Carve a way between the clouds Across the midnight sky We'll leave it all behind Forget about those summer nights When the sweat poured off our skin Before the dawn brought new life Verse 2 Staring out into black Wonder if we go back What could we become? Hearts pound in our chests All those little secrets We'll never lay to rest Chorus Tell yourself it's just a dream Holding on to simple things Til we find our way back home Cause time is always on the run Hand yourself a loaded gun Can you ever call this home? Bridge Saw that light crash against the wall Held your hand through it all As the impact hits my skin Heard your voice, through the room it called Out my name as we fall Through the howling of the wind Chorus Tell yourself it's just a dream Holding on to simple things Til we find our way back home Cause time is always on the run Hand yourself a loaded gun Can you ever call this home? [How could you ever call this home?] Tell yourself it's just a dream Holding on to simple things Til we find our way back home Cause time is always on the run Hand yourself a loaded gun Can you ever call this home?
  8. Have you ever been lead on? Gotten mixed signals? Felt ever confused by a woman, or a man as far as their intentions are concerned intimately? Thats what this song is about. You say you're not ready, but you're standing on the starting lineRev your engine, flash your lights, The tension before the crime.I push you away, but you come back to me like rhyme. You say you’re not ready, but you're standing on the starting line. Are you coming Am I goingAre we starting our love flowingAre you comingAm I goingDancing’s starting my love flowingLean close to tell me gossip Lean away from my caressYou show me all the body looking fine in that red dressI tell you games are what you play, but then you pass the diceI let the go a winning toss but defeat is this games price. We’ve come all this way and desires in your eyesA Beautiful thing to smell and see, but dangers in disguiseWe could spend the night loving life awayI know I should be free from you if tomorrow I hope you’ll stay. Are you coming Am I goingAre we starting our love flowingAre you comingAm I goingDancing's starting my love flowingI feel you spinning roundMy heads in space feet off the groundLove it feels like poison gas I can’t breathe now without your maskRockets prepped Just count downEngines primed fuels soundLIght the fuse it's time to jetI don’t know where i’ll end up yet.Are you coming Am I goingAre we starting our love flowingAre you comingAm I goingDancing's starting my love flowing
  9. I work as a crisis counselor with at risk youth. In the time I've spent doing that job I am convinced that all that is needed to see the world change into a Utopian future is to make sure that just one generation of children is fed, educated, and cared for humanely. Every child deserves the chance to be what they were meant to be.LyricsWe all break wide eyed to this worldA clean slate for a new life unfurledWe must take care of the young Show them life's just a song yet unsung.Cause dark in hearts grows the sameLike weeds in fields with no hand to tameAnd all the pain the mother's drain in tears for youth can be regainedIf love is all that I feelAll that I know All that is realIf love is all that we feelAll that we knowAll that is realStarting out is a perilous taskOne best done without wearing a maskHiding how we can truly beIs how the young stay locked without dreamsDark in hearts grows the sameLike weeds in fields with no hand to tameAnd all the pain the mother's drain in tears for youth can be regainedIf love is all that I feelAll that I know All that is realIf love is all that we feelAll that we knowAll that is realAll it takes for this world to changeIs raising the youth who live lives of painGive them hope for a brand new dayA world in which we’ve grown up to say
  10. Liquid GoldLyrics:Another night Another empty glassAnother try to find a love that lastsFind them here Drowning lives awayDarkness fears what they become one dayLonesome souls on lonely roadswho seem to lost their wayBury hears in liquid goldin hopes someone will stayLonesome souls walk lonely roadsIn hope to find their wayGild their hearts in liquid goldTo shield them from the painGoin down a path to me unknownLook around lonely hearts on loanBroken eyes like Death on standing feetTroubled lives friends with pure defeatLonesome souls on lonely roadswho seem to lost their wayBury hears in liquid goldin hopes someone will stayLonesome souls walk lonely roadsIn hope to find their wayGild their hearts in liquid goldTo shield them from the painWe all shield the pain in our own waysSome cant shield the pain that comes their wayWe all break apart in our own waysSome are save from the love of those who stayedBut for those who live alone :heart, mind, and soulRaise your glass and drink today In Hopes youll find your ownAnd don't hate what you’ve becomeThe journey Still unfoldsKnow the paths you walked todayMay still bring you homeBeen spending a lot of time in the bars and thinking about the lonely people and their search... This is a song born of it. Craig Ferguson talked about, in his book, a time when he was so depressed he was going to kill himself. But he was a raging alcoholic got drunk and passed out before he could do the deed. It was looking back at that time that he realized the alcohol was the only thing keeping him alive in a weird way. A song about self medication.
  11. HI

My name is Isaias I am 30 years old from the USA, and I currently live in Northern California. I have played piano since I was 7 years old. In high school and college I sang in many different choirs and acapella groups most notably The Innocent Men from the University of WI Eau Claire. I also play tuba, guitar, and various ethnic instruments. I went to college for 3.5 years, and after changing my major for a 3rd time left. The prospect that going to college and being 45,000 USD in debt with no job prospects scared the crap out of me. so I left school 7 years ago moved to California, Got a job working with at risk youth, and started doing theater. Most of the theater was for non profit groups as volunteer, but I was lucky enough to win a regional award for local theater in the Sacramento area (Best supporting actor in a musical Avenue Q). I was also blessed getting some opportunities performing for a local cabaret theater (Basically glorified Karaoke), but it paid and that was an amazing experience. Getting a check for going up on stage and making people laugh and have a good time it clicked. I figure I spent my 20's trying to figure out who I am, and I hope to spend my 30's acting on it. I want to be a songwriter more then anything. If I can look back on my life 10 years from now I want to be able to say that at the very least I chased my goal and it was a dead end for me. I have a youtube channel, and plan on posting a new video at least once a week. the name of the channel is Day2Take1 which is a metaphor for getting up and trying again. Thank you Shine Always Shine Away
  12. Hey! I'm Syb, a 17 year old musician, I'm French and I started learning the piano one year ago. 13. When you’re no longer wanted The world can feel so cruel You’d jump into a fire Just to feel the warmth you knew When you’re no longer wanted You’ll break your cardinal rules Your heart cracks wide open And will lose its lovely hue Darkness around You feel the pain inside Lost hope for ever finding That love which always hides Will you always be searching of a life you’ll never find Or will you learn to love the man The one the mirror shines When you’re no longer wanted The words they seem all true The ones that say its time to stop You won’t ever make it through When you’re no longer wanted Future days are gloom A broken mix of chances That you’ll never get to do Darkness around You feel the pain inside Lost hope for ever finding That love which always hides Will you always be searching of a life you’ll never find Or will you learn to love the man The one the mirror shines Will you learn to love , Will you learn to fight, Will you learn that love, Is really worth the fight Will you stay the course, Or will you break at night Will you learn to love Will you learn to love Will you learn to love Will you learn to love Its a new one a wrote recently .
  14. I often lie awake in bed ya seeThinking of lost friends and companyHow we grow together or how we grow apartThe difference is where we start. As I fall into a wonderland my dreams bring you back to meI often lie awake and bed ya seeThinking of my wrong and good past deedsWhat I am, Who I was, and What I thought i’d be The truth has really set me freeAs I fall into a wonderland my dreams bring you back to me My dreams bring you back to meAnd as the world drifts away I dream of the lights and the city stageAll my friends have come to play and sing dance in their little waysI know this dream illusion won't come to an end till the morning lightSo let's spend this time together remembering our lights in each others lives. How we loved and how we waited all those precious days awayHow we wasted all that time to find that love had left awayAnd all the years between then and now i’d give back to time to tell you what was true, My love inside and all I thought of you.And I know my dreams won’t show my love to you even though it's trueBut i'd give every night and day from tomorrow til the end of my dying day To spend the night with youTo spend my life with youDawn cuts the nightGhost of my past in flightYou're still with me when i open my eyes from sleepI know(x3)... That dreams bring hopeAnd then you fade unto the blackThe dreams they end my life comes backStill I hope and still I prayDreams will bring you back to meDreams will really set me free. I am concerned if the lyrics and the music convey the story I want to tell. That moment when you go to sleep and dream of the people from your past, and the regrets that come from that experience.
  15. Looking mostly for mix and piano feedback on this. No tracks will be added, so do I have a good balance between piano and vox? Does the sparseness of the piano sound like a suitable artistic decision? Or just the limitations of a guitarist trying to play piano? Thanks. EDIT: Mix updated per feedback. I've updated the SC file: Drag on a cigarette As I have my morning cup Burns inside But it feels so right I race outside Try to beat the cold Another day is waiting Another year is fading It's an ordinary life In an ordinary time I get to work As I curse under my breath No sick days left to take And miles from my smoking break I close my eyes And I think of better things But dreams don't last And these days just pass It's an ordinary life In an ordinary time
  16. I already have some understanding of notation. I can sight read though, Not at the speed I used to. I want to broaden my skills on the linnstrument with more of a foundation piano like approach. Sure I've dabbled on the keys before. I'm not afraid of learning things again in a new way. Also... please refrain from classical music. I'm more interested in pop/rock/country approaches to the instrument. Thanks
  17. This is another I've had kicking around for a little while, the problem this time is that the vocals were just too damn loud. How it took me over a year to realize it, I don't know. Of course, once I finally tamed that, other issues popped up, but I think (hope?) I may have gotten them squared away. Anyway, does anything about this song feel like it still needs work? I know the lyric is opaque, but I'd say they are mostly written in stone at this point, partly because I like it and partly because I worked on this lyric for two years and never came up with anything better. Thanks! EDIT: No, not all of my songs begin with "all"... just most of them. Anywhere, anyway you are All in good time With a word, whether near or far All in good time Whispered on a gentle breeze All in good time When I'm alone My thoughts return to you When I'm alone I can hear You silently drawing near In time Scattered leaves of red and brown Tattered dreams swept off the ground When I'm alone My mind returns to you When I'm alone I can tell The sound that I know so well When I'm alone I can here You silently drawing near In time

  19. We are the ones Who will jump off a bride And tell you to do it to We are the ones Your mother warned about Being all free and loose We aren't bad you see We just like to have a different kind of fun So hold my hand and take this noose And I'll pour you some goose You will come scared And leave brand new The sky of grey Will Turn to a sky of blue We have a secret weapon It's our superpower One pop of it Will make you wanting more More of this buzz More of this fun More of everything You'll never want to leave this life As the sirens go off We are dancing along To kid cudi And playing pong This amazing feeling Will never last Just keep on trying To get more than the past The highs are high The lows are lows But the lows Are worth the highest You will come scared And leave brand new The sky of grey Will Turn to a sky of blue We have a secret weapon It's our superpower One pop of it Will make you wanting more More of this buzz More of this fun More of everything You'll never want to leave this life Sure it can make you go insane for a bit But you get over it fast With one more hit One more slice One more pop You'll feel better and better as time passes
  20. Hi, I just wanted to see if you guys had any suggestions for the track I am working on. Thanks in advance! https://www.reverbnation.com/paintthescene?profile_view_source=header_icon_nav
  21. Hey guys! Let me know what you think of my band's latest cover. All criticism is welcome Enjoy Jump on my Shoulders - Prairials
  22. Hi im aloproductionz but you can call me dex im from the uk and im 23 years old since a child iv been passionate about music my first instrument I started to play was the keyboard, I would love to mess about with the different preset sounds and play them along with the beats on there I spent a lot of time on there each day. after my older cousin taught me a simple song on the keyboard and challenged me to play it fast and it different adaptions I began wanting to make my own music I started 2 songs on the piano while in primary school and had a few lessons in secondary school but due to going to a bad school class was cancelled and replaced with me crap health and safety.in my spare time I would continue playing a creating music during school my passion for story writing and poetry blossomed I began making music on the computer towards the end of school where after I went on to do a music diploma but dropped out at the end of the second year because it wasn't for me other instruments Iv played include flute drums and guitar I still play and compose music but now on a piano rather then a keyboard and produce music onn my computer I still write poetry/songs but have taken a break to work on production where atm im at the stage of learning to mix my music and hope after to move on to promoting my music and working towards collaborations with other artist either stuff theyv written or that iv written I like every genre of music besides death metal to me music is an expression of emotion so each music can suit a better mood but screaming nastiness isn't for me however I once met a man who was a heavy metal listener and surprisingly he was the most gentle kind guy which was interesting I guess it shows how music can be a voice of expression
  23. Here is a link to our new song, let us know what you think (would be great to have some feedback).
