Morrison (c ) 2014 know the second verse is a line longer than first the rhyme may not be the same but think it still flows PO the chair there's a chair in the corner that rocks on it's own is it the wind or is it a ghost it is the chair my dad sat upon it had been in the family long before I was born the chair my dads rocking chair my mum said the chair had belonged to his dad and his dad way before that no one really knew how old was the chair but all could agree it had always been here the chair my dads rocking chair now the chair has passed to me the next first born male in our family I sit and I rock in that old chair think of my dad wish he was still here it's still my dads socking chair now we have a child my first born son you know what I did the day he was born I sat with him in dads rocking chair a smile on my face feeling him near what will I tell him when he asks me I'll say son this chair is our legacy someday it will pass from me to you I hope you'll love it the way I do you sit with the past when you sit there rocking yourself gentle in dads rocking chair rocking yourself gently in dads rocking chair
