  1. It's been a while since I posted any new music here. I've been busy creating the orchestral sample library that I used in this piece of music, but now that I'm done with the library, I can turn my attention to composing music again. Cemetery For The Soul I started with the guitars, synth and drum tracks created by Scott Thomson and added all the orchestra stuff. As always all comments are welcome, but I'm mostly looking for feedback that I can keep in mind and use as I work on the next thing I do. Paul
  2. (V) I met an angel.....as she was walking by/ but I was a player.....a devil in disguise/ N' I started thinking......of loving her that night/ but devil horns N' angel wings, doesn't make it right (Chorus) N' boy she was a beauty/ as pure as apple pie---- not a trace of a raindrop/ had ever fallen from her eyes---/ and I didn't want the blame, for rain fallin' from the skies-- cause raindrops are tears, fallin' from an angels eyes/ (V) Then we started talkin' but she fell to realize that an angel can be tainted, all from a devil's lies-/ I didn't want to hurt her, didn't want to see her cry-/ cause a devil can't be chained, even if an angel tries--/ (Chorus) but boy she was a beauty/ as pure as apple pie--/ not a trace of a raindrop/ Had ever fallen from her eyes--/ and I didn't want the blame, for rain fallin' from the skies--/ Cause raindrops are tears, fallin' from an angels eyes--/ (V) As we began to grow, I refused to recognize---- how this angel stole this devils soul, and changed his foolish pride--/ She spoke of purity, and things I'd never known/ N' it was hard to believe, I had to let my angel go--- (Chorus) (V) As she turned to say goodbye, thunder screamed and called---, then lightening lit up the skies, and fire--- began fall-- rolling down the mountains, blazing to the skies---- cause fireballs are tears fallin' from a devils eyes/ and I didn't want the blame, for fire fallen from the skies--/ but you can't blame an angel, for the tears that a devil cries/ (Chorus)
  3. Hi Guys This came to me while I was driving to a job which was about a 2 hour drive. Not much tweaking from what I got on the road. I've been doing a collaboration with someone that has been quite a mental challenge and this came as a little light relief lol! Hope you enjoy and any and all comments welcome good or bad. Have fun Les I Believe In UFO’s © Les Service 2016 All rights reserved V I was outside the other night There was a bright light in the sky It seemed to be winking at me Like some heavenly cosmic eye V It stayed there for quite a while I stood completely mesmerized It winked at me one last time Before it streaked across the sky C I believe in UFO’s I didn’t before but I do now Never thought I would see one Holy Crap! Holy Cow! I believe in UFO’s Little green men from the planet Mars I don’t think that we are alone We’ve got visitors yeah From the stars V I’ve been outside every night Hoping that they would come back Next thing I knew I was floating up Felt like I was being hijacked....line curtesy of teek. Was..then I was standing on their deck. V Staring at me with big black eyes I could hear them inside my head They told me they come in peace I understood every word they said C I believe in UFO’s I didn’t before but I do now Never thought I would see one Holy Crap! Holy Cow! I believe in UFO’s Little green men from the planet Mars I don’t think that we are alone We’ve got visitors yeah From the stars B...Sort of narrated Did they come from outer space Or from another dimension and time They are observers of the human race As long as they don’t probe me that’s fine C I believe in UFO’s I didn’t before but I do now Never thought I would see one Holy Shit! 4. Hi guys, This is a new collab and it only has a verse, pre-chorus and chorus. I think it kinda sounds like a pop/country song? Im looking for 1st impressions on the vocal melody as Im in need of fresh ears to identify problematic areas. If anything comes to mind, it doesn't matter how tiny, just let me know your honest take on the song. The lyrics are still under re-writing so I'll probably repost this song later on for a complete critique. But if you can't critique the melody without mentioning the lyrics, then by all means, go for it! Thanks heaps, y'all! Ken Crazy Best Way © Andy Mackay Like a live wire on the street sparking you tried to get me to feel But I ran, I went marching The moment it started gettin real I was careless with my heart and yours I didnt know how to love But time, has revealed my wrongs You were right for me, at the wrong time A false start, and the fault is mine And I'm ready to learn, how to love you And I want you, in the crazy best way I'm ready to love, every inch of you Coz I want you, in the crazy best way Make you mine if you want me to I'm ready to fight and hold on to you This time I wont let it get away Coz I want you, in the crazy best way
  5. Here's another one for feedback...Like the others I've posted, I wrote this during a particularly prolific period during the mid 1990s. The vocals are clipping/breaking up a bit, but I haven't found a way to fix it without fully re-recording them, so I'm aware of that particular issue. And yes, that line in the bridge is a little harsh (my wife doesn't like it either), but, well, I haven't come up with something better. Let me know what you think of the song. Never Lose Music and Lyrics by Anthony Coglianese © Copyright 2014 Anthony Coglianese Music Flying on a big jet plane In the sky I write your name Once again we play the game of coast to coast. Trifling with my own love As I fly high above The land that separates me from what I love most. Chorus 1: And I wanna run up to the cockpit Start screaming "Turn this bird around!" And when we land I'm gonna kiss the ground And make a vow To never lose what we have found Oh no...oh no Gonna throw away my fear Gonna try to make it clear The only place I wanna be is here with you. I'll buy you a diamond ring A promise of my love I'll sing We can get through anything, just me and you. Chorus 2: And I wanna wrap my arms around you We'll feel our hearts together pound And I know now it's gonna be the sweetest sound When we vow to never lose what we have found. Oh no...oh no... Bridge: Somehow girl, we're gonna make it work Even when you're a bitch and I'm a jerk. 'Cause darling if our love is true We'll make it through. There's nothing else for us to do. Chorus 2
  6. http://www.reverbnation.com/playlist/view_playlist/-4?page_object=artist_614477 This is one I wrote about 6 weeks back called "Make the Music". It mentions ghosts but it truly is not a ghost song. Its the first track on the player. Here's the lyrics: MAKE THE MUSIC Maybe you’ve been in the fire before Or stood in the ruins after it rained Maybe you’ve watched your whole world go up in smoke Then rose from the ashes again Maybe you’ve been in the storm before Waist deep in water watching it rain Maybe you’ve watched your possessions all drifting away Then rose to the surface again Oh yes there may be questions that have no answer But if you make the music, life finds a dancer If life is an illusion and we’re just ghosts here Then we will make the music the other ghosts hear Maybe you’ve been under fire before Crouched in the ruins cursing or praying Maybe you’ve seen your whole world explode in flame Then got up and walked away Maybe your heart has been broken before Perhaps you’ve buried some friends on the way Maybe there’s bruises and wrinkles upon your soul That deepen and sadden the smile on your face Oh yes there may be questions that have no answer But if you make the music, life finds a dancer If life is an illusion and we’re just ghosts here Then we will make the music the other ghosts hear
  7. Merry Christmas, Here's a song I'm messing around with. It's bare bones and could probably use some filling out. Any comments on the songwriting, arrangement, production, or otherwise are appreciated. As always, kick my butt. I need it. https://soundcloud.com/spadanny/ring-a-bell harmony vocal remix with new lead vocal https://soundcloud.com/spadanny/ring-a-bell-remixed The final (hopefully though do critique please) mix of this song. After consideration I decided to rerecord all of the vocals and add some keys. I also changed the line "do you ride a yellow bike" to "do you drive a yellow car" to eliminate confusion about the age of the narrator/singer. Thanks to Skyhammer for pointing that out. Made some other tweaks but I wont bore you. Let me know what you think if you have 2 and half minutes. As always thanks for the feedback! https://soundcloud.com/spadanny/ring-a-bell-2014-re-remixed Hello how are you I think we might have met before maybe I've seen you at the dollar store Do you ride a yellow bike, did you go to summer camp do you know a guy named ray that has a lava lamp I remember you out of the blue You ring a bell, do I know you well You ring a bell in my heart You ring a bell, do I know you well You ring a bell, think I love you wait a minute before you go you know it's not every day that you meet someone and you gotta say I think you were in a book I read or a novel that I said I was gonna write sometime, but I never did I remember you out of the blue you ring a bell, do I know you well you ring a bell, in my heart, you ring a bell, do I know you well you ring a bell, think I love you ring out ring out ring out ring out And if we never get together We can just say well whatever You ring a bell you ring a bell, do I know you well you ring a bell
  8. Hey guys, I'm an independent artist from Geneva, Switzerland and just wanted to share with you my debut single "Are You Ready?" and its video clip. This song is about being young and careless while we still can. It's good to let go even if it's just for a moment. Raise your glass, forget the past! Hope you like the music video and the song! I'm looking forward to making more!
  9. Hi guys After some much appreciated advice from chased, HoboSage and Kel I have made a lot of changes to this song. Thanks Kel for your very specific comments and after reading them more than several times, I hope I have made some progress. LOL Kel, Skidmarks, I know exactly what you mean and every time I came to that part of your comments it "cracked" me up (forgive the pun) thanks a lot mate. The title was going to be (in the end) Skidmarks on the tarmac (driveway) but I like your idea way better. Anyway I guess the general questions to anyone for me are, have I gone in the right direction with this? doe's it flow and make sense? I have included some other options which are in Blue, I have several other rewrites of this song but thought this was maybe the better of them all. If nothing else I hope you enjoy the read. Thanks for viewing Cheers Skin Skidmark’s ©LGS 2013 Intro That didn’t go down to well (Narrated) Slam! There goes’ the front door Bam! The car door too Crash! There goes the dustbin Screech! And there goes you Chorus Skid marks on the driveway smell of rubber in the air Guess you’re not coming back honey I don’t care You built me up you slapped me down made my life a misery Now you’re gone, feel’s so good, feels so good to be free e e e Feel’s so good to be free V Thought I was in love with you It seems that, I was wrong Something never gelled with us You came on way to strong All the things we ever did Was you’re way, or not at all Sick and tired of domination It’s my time to stand tall Chorus Skid marks on the driveway smell of rubber in the air Guess you’re not coming back honey I don’t care You built me up you slapped me down made my life a misery, Now you’re gone, feel’s so good, feels so good to be free e e e Feel’s so good to be free V Put me down to many time’s Front of strangers, front of friends Well my dear your time is up Coz this is where it ends You only wanted a shadow man You only wanted a shadow man Nothing more, nothing less To fol-low you around It’s time for me say goodbye Ever waiting for the chance Let history keep the rest To put me on the ground B So o o o Go take a leap Go take a jump Go take a leap go take a jump Go take a leap go take a jump No, I don’t want you back No, I wont take you back Do what the hell you like Since you left I’ve found someone Since you’ve gone I’ve found someone I’ve found someone Give’s me love shows me respect Give’s me love and respect who’s love is real So you can take a hike Chorus Skid marks on the driveway smell of rubber in the air Know you’re not coming back honey I don’t care You built me up you slapped me down made my life a misery Now you’re gone, feel’s so good Feels so good to be free e e e Feel’s so good to be free
  10. Hi, guys This one was a spin off from a couple of lines in my last post "I Feel A Storm Coming" "Front door slam" "car door slam" I was thinking about these lines and before I knew it I had 4 V and a chorus which I have used as the bridge in this version. Done lots of rewrites and swapping parts of the chorus to verse then back around again and thought I would come to the best place to get critique and opinions on the layout and anything else that needs fixing. I thought of using "Skid marks on the tarmac" as a title? what do you think? I used the Domination as the theme for the title. So I hope you enjoy and thanks for viewing. Changes made to 1st line in the chorus to "driveway from Tarmac" thanks to HoboSage. Domination ©LGS 2013 Intro That didn’t go down to well (Narrated) Slam! There goes’ the front door Bam! The car door too Crash! There goes the dustbin Screech!
