  1. A song I wrote a year ago, the day after a friend killed himself. An Idea for a song. Simpel home recording (on a Boss BR600). Two guitars, 1 voice. The trip: A perfect life starts with a fear you never felt before When you know you're leaving but you don't know what's ahead. Can a perfect day start with a pain you never thought that you could bare? Yeah all of this might have its reasons. Chorus: For if you never felt this pain and fear, how would you know? How could you? For if you never made this trip before, how could you know? It's a perfect journey To a place you never been before. Yeah you know you're leaving but you don't know what's ahead Can a perfect joy start with a tear you never spelt before? Could that be the start of?.. yeah might be the start of. Chorus... Bridge: Travel light my friend, don't carry to much weight There’s read ahead and it might not be straight. A perfect end starts with a fear you never felt before. When you know you leaving a you don't know what's ahead. Bridge (2X)... But if you never made that trip before, how could you know.

  8. I work as a crisis counselor with at risk youth. In the time I've spent doing that job I am convinced that all that is needed to see the world change into a Utopian future is to make sure that just one generation of children is fed, educated, and cared for humanely. Every child deserves the chance to be what they were meant to be.LyricsWe all break wide eyed to this worldA clean slate for a new life unfurledWe must take care of the young Show them life's just a song yet unsung.Cause dark in hearts grows the sameLike weeds in fields with no hand to tameAnd all the pain the mother's drain in tears for youth can be regainedIf love is all that I feelAll that I know All that is realIf love is all that we feelAll that we knowAll that is realStarting out is a perilous taskOne best done without wearing a maskHiding how we can truly beIs how the young stay locked without dreamsDark in hearts grows the sameLike weeds in fields with no hand to tameAnd all the pain the mother's drain in tears for youth can be regainedIf love is all that I feelAll that I know All that is realIf love is all that we feelAll that we knowAll that is realAll it takes for this world to changeIs raising the youth who live lives of painGive them hope for a brand new dayA world in which we’ve grown up to say
  9. Liquid GoldLyrics:Another night Another empty glassAnother try to find a love that lastsFind them here Drowning lives awayDarkness fears what they become one dayLonesome souls on lonely roadswho seem to lost their wayBury hears in liquid goldin hopes someone will stayLonesome souls walk lonely roadsIn hope to find their wayGild their hearts in liquid goldTo shield them from the painGoin down a path to me unknownLook around lonely hearts on loanBroken eyes like Death on standing feetTroubled lives friends with pure defeatLonesome souls on lonely roadswho seem to lost their wayBury hears in liquid goldin hopes someone will stayLonesome souls walk lonely roadsIn hope to find their wayGild their hearts in liquid goldTo shield them from the painWe all shield the pain in our own waysSome cant shield the pain that comes their wayWe all break apart in our own waysSome are save from the love of those who stayedBut for those who live alone :heart, mind, and soulRaise your glass and drink today In Hopes youll find your ownAnd don't hate what you’ve becomeThe journey Still unfoldsKnow the paths you walked todayMay still bring you homeBeen spending a lot of time in the bars and thinking about the lonely people and their search... This is a song born of it. Craig Ferguson talked about, in his book, a time when he was so depressed he was going to kill himself. But he was a raging alcoholic got drunk and passed out before he could do the deed. It was looking back at that time that he realized the alcohol was the only thing keeping him alive in a weird way. A song about self medication.
  10. Hi , i have lyrics that i would like someone to make into a "song" PLEASE ;-) , i work quid pro quo, , i am happy to write lyrics for a tune of yours in return . EVERYBODY LIES V.1. We are defined by our deceit Even though we try to be discreet A lie is a promise we can't keep We all have a secret , a little secret Pre Chorus. Everybody lies It's just a human failing Hiding behind a disguise Makes it easier to lie Chorus . Everybody lies Everybody lies You can see it in their eye's Everybody lies V.2. We are defined by our deceit Is it human nature to cheat A lie is a promise we can't keep Do you feel the loneliness of conceit Bridge . Hiding what you really feel Only works in your mind Trying to be someone your not Is just living a lie Pre Chorus. Everybody lies It's just a human failing Hiding behind a disguise Makes it easier to lie Chorus. Everybody lies Everybody lies You can see it in their eye's Everybody lies OUTRO Everybody laughs Everybody cries Everybody lives Everybody dies Everybody lies
  11. So, since I've been told I have a odd, tenor voice in a positive light, only one in a negative light, I want to know if there is a higher chance of vocalists with a odd kind of timbre being successful? Is it not or is it a coincidence that the list of vocalists below made it even with a voice that's not necessary the voice of a Angel? Geddy Lee (Must I have to say it...Rush) Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy) Tim Armstrong (Rancid) Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses) Dexter Holland (Offspring) Brian Johnson (AC/DC) Greg Grffin (Bad Religion) Serj Tankian (System Of A Down/Solo Artist) Something tells me the A&R's look out for a different type of timbre. Let me know what you think.
  12. Just curious, how did this work? and how are my vocals? what should I work on? https://soundcloud.com/h4zel3yes/last-love-song-someone-like-you
  13. This is a song I originally worked on back in 2011. I wanted to re-work it and use the knowledge of mixing and orchestration I've gained over the last 4 years. I'm not responsible for the vocals or piano, just the orchestra and mixing. I'm interested in any and all comments as always but specifically interested in comments on the quality of the mix and the orchestration. The Lighthouse
  14. Hey, Im a music producer looking for singer-songwriters for my tracks Im up for making any kind of music. Also I'm looking for somebody to cover "All about that bass" to put onto my recreated version Contract me Jake.collison@hotmail.co.uk Many thanks
  15. Hello everyone! I was honored to make a remix out of the pre-mixed vocals of Bonnie Legion, singer from California. I hope You enjoy it! I will be very grateful for every feedback, no matter how negative will it be. To fulfill the melody and make vocals more variable, I cut vowels from the vocals, so there is no certain word that you can hear, just vowels, perhaps „the eye“ can be recognized, but that was just a coincidence. Here are the lyrics: I am gonna run to the outside... (Vowels Vocalic Lead) I am gonna run to the outside... (Vowels Vocalic Lead) Lost my faith on the inside 4x[i am gonna run to the outside] Lost my faith on the inside I am gonna run to the outside... 3x[Lost my faith on the inside] I am gonna run to the outside 4x[i am gonna run to the outside] Lost my faith on the inside I am gonna run to the outside Lost my faith on the inside I am gonna run to the outside (Vowels Vocalic Lead) You can check out her songs: https://soundcloud.com/bonnie-legion You can also check out and pick up her vocals: https://soundcloud.com/bonnie-legion-vocals
  16. New song just finished today. let me know what you think! You can go your way and I’ll go mine Our lives were only made just to pass the time The clock will tick another tick It will chime another chime My only wish is that something I say or do Will be worth while You know everything we see will be washed in the tide But what of the ships we build? will they be left to rise? We all know we’ve been, we all say we’ve changed But can we say we’re better? Or just ourselves re-arranged Our age will keep dragging us on and on and what will time bring? Will we see where we’ve been and gone? Will we see ourselves age? You know everything we see will be washed in the tide But what of the ships we build? will they be left to rise? Oh, if we take ourselves To where our bodies dwell Down through the passing of time To the day we shelled just for another dime You can go your way and I’ll go mine Our lives were only made just to pass the time Thanks, Tony
  17. Another of my many collaborations with my song writer friend Dave. It's called "Passionately". Dave wrote the song, sang it played most of the electric guitars, bass, and piano. I'm responsible for drums, orchestra, 1 small electric guitar part and mixing. Passionately All comments are welcome.
  18. Hi Everyone, I hope all is well. I wonder if you can help me out. I'm a lead singer and guitarist for a band that I started about a month ago. It's my first time performing in a band as the lead singer. I write all my own music, guitar, melodies, lyrics, song structures. You name it. Now my last hurdle is singing in front of people. I've had about 5 rehearsals with my band where we have gone through all the songs. Music only. So now we have 7 songs. The finishing touches are now for me to add the vocals so we can finalize the songs and start performing. So I'm kind of shy about singing in front of people. I can sing. I'm really good. I've just never sang live in front of anyone. I have recorded acoustic versions my songs and the guys in the band all like them and are looking forward to start playing them live. So any way I can quickly build some confidence? As many tips as you can give me would be apprecited. Thanks and Rock n Roll!! Carlos R.
  19. Hey guys its been a while since i posted here and got great feedback. Its been about a year when i asked you all to check out my first serious song. Years before that i had dabbled in various music genres created in FL Studio and Reason but last year is when i started taking musical creation and production seriously. It is my goal in life to carv out my own musical piece of the pie by either my musical creations, performance, production, collaboration, live sound, cinematic music etc. I am determined to find a place in the musical world for myself as a career. I had read a post on here about how in order to move foward as a musician, you must be torn down first and realize you are not great. This has happened to me on several occasions. So much so that last year, i stopped releasing every track i made until eventually, i wouldnt release any track at all for fear that it had nothing musical to offer. I fear i have lost perspective, as we all do, when it comes to my music. It is a passion and fun for me but i long for my music to have meaning to other people as well. So with all that said i would like to present the culmination of 5 years of bedroom production has taught me. It is called Tall Tales of Corporal Smith. It was created at OO Studios (my bedroom). I have invested quite a bit of time and money into my music and my studio, so with that i ask and expect everyone harshest criticism of this project. I would like it reviewed as if you had bought from ITunes. CONCEPT ALBUM play from beginning to end without stopping https://soundcloud.com/oo-records/sets/tall-tales-of-corporal-smith/s-j5HZa I specifically am interested in how the mix sounds and thoughts on the overall theme and production quality. Any and all comments are welcome. We can talk more about the subject material when you have a listen but it is meant to be played from beginning to end. Thanks for any and all comments as this is an amazing community and am grateful to have the opportunity to talk to real musicians instead of cheap listens.
  20. Hi!

Hey all! I am a songwriter from Boston, MA currently living in Los Angeles, CA. I love all genres of music but tend to gravitate towards anything with an acoustic guitar. I graduated with a degree in Music Performance in 2012 and spend my days creating music and working for a music collaboration startup. I have played in a few bands and enjoyed playing all around New England. I haven't played out much since I traded in sunrises for sunsets but I am looking to forums like these to find new inspiration and knowledge. Glad to be here! Cheers! - Matt
  21. I'm new to singing (I pretty much got into it six months ago when I started learning the guitar) and would love constructive criticism on how to improve my voice and technique from more experienced singers. Feel free to be mean if necessary, I'm aware that my singing is far from prefect and I have no real technical training. It would also be really helpful if someone could tell me if I'm an alto, mezzo or soprano etc. I'm not looking to become a professional, I just love to sing for fun alone and with my friends and want to improve my voice. Here's my soundcloud and a few quick recordings that may give you a idea of my singing: https://soundcloud.com/tiinamaria Thanks if you take the time to respond!
  22. I was honoured to make song with acapella given, the singer's name is Bonnie Legion, she's got a beautiful voice and is good singer. It made the tune sound colourful. I am sorry for some parts in which the melody doesn't go right with the singing. I really love using Renoise, it helped me much to make it sound so beautiful, especially the vocals! Anyway, gratitude for your feedbacks and opinions is granted. https://soundcloud.com/brain-claim/ft-bonnie-legion-spring-the-summer-original-mix
  23. Hello! I don't know what I am getting into here, but I would like help with my vocals. I would appreciate it if someone can tell me how to record and post some of my vocals for evaluation. I It's been years since I practiced, so the pipes are definitely rusty. I think I will need to start all over.
  24. https://soundcloud.com/mrsick2/mr-slick-loving-you Here is a song i made for a PreSonus contest, I hope I win what do you guys think of it?
