Fundamental Beat Building

Just read through this article, 'Fundamentals of beat building By Tom. As a non drummer, I can't help but notice how immensely useful this article, and in particular, the text examples, would be to anybody trying to program a drum track on the computer or drum machine. The way this has been laid out is very simple to apply to both. Nice one Tom.

Thanks Steve.....appreciate it much!
From what I can tell, there are already so many nut & bolt tutorials about "the basics" of drumming on the net, I thought it might be nice to play around with a more mixed format. Even though it's primarily about basic skills, I'm trying to work in bits & pieces that folks who aren't novice drummers might still find useful or a little entertaining. Your comment is perfect....it let's me know I hit with some of what I was going for anyway. Thanks again! BTW.....using the vids to break up the written portions was John's idea.....I can't take credit for that.
p.s. - I am a little offended that you didn't comment on my good lookin' "South Park" tee shirt though
