Singing/scream Help!

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this is the right thread but here goes. For a while now I've been trying to sing and scream. Now with singing I don't know how to use my muscles (according to two singing teachers) and with screaming I got very little Pitch control so obviously I'm doing something wrong. Does anyone know how I can possibly improve any of it? I got some warm ups but I don't think I'm doing them right or using the right muscles, HELP!! frown.gif

You should stop using your falsetto or head voice (whichever you are using). First you should work on your chest voice to gain pitch control back. Then make exercises of blending. Screaming should sound like scream with microphone system, don't rush it. If your voice hurts even a little when you do a thing, you are doing wrong it wrong!

Hope this helps

Ok so I have slightly improved on my pitch and it all sounds better in general (except for scream pitch) only concern now is that I cant change the strength dynamic (if that makes any sense at all). I use as practice songs Metallica - nothing else matters, Killswitch Engage - My last serenade (mainly for screams as his higher notes are m breaking notes) and avenged sevenfold - shepard of fire.

what I have seem with screaming/screamers is too much air and pushing. and as Mahir Can Kucuk mentioned, if you hurts its wrong so you should stop.

After you've warmed up, try starting with the quietest screaming tone you can make and get louder from there. Sometimes the screaming that we hear as "loud" isnt as loudly produced as we think it is. If you feel tension in your neck increasing stop and start over. You want to keep your neck and throat as relaxed as possible when you're finding your tone. I also suspect that "too much air" is the reason you are having a hard time controlling your pitch.
