10 posts in this topic

Hi gang

If you post up your best, most excellent song recording, video or lyrics, the Site Crew will regularly select their favourites to feature on Songstuff, it's portals and newsletters. Free publicity? You can't knock it!

Artists and Songwriters please reply, attaching a link to a specific song recording or video you believe is good enough to be featured, please also include any copyright ownership details, your artist name and a link to your main artist page, plus a copy of the lyrics. If you have an online EPK please also include a link to that.

Lyricists, please reply including the lyrics of a specific song that you feel is good enough to be featured. Please include your name, any copyright ownership details and a link to your lyricist's page / blog. Without a link we will only promote your member page on Songstuff

Only one song or video can be submitted, per member, per week.

Posting is not a guarantee that you will be featured, only that we will consider it.

This is STRICTLY FOR MEMBERS AND THEIR BANDS, ONLY.

TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST HAVE MADE MORE THAN 10 "REASONABLE" POSTS ON OUR FORUMS THAT WEEK ie not glib one liners.

One thing...

If you don't post it, we can't feature it!

Cheers

John

Yo this hip-hop shit got me feeling hell alive

I live for the lyrics and I strive for the rhymes

Better hold on tight don’t lean on the side

There's a light in my mind and it shines all the time

This bitch got me feeling mad down

I loved her but it's been over for a while now

Thought she was the perfect girl

She spits fire like a dragon and the devils inside her

I moved on, kept living my life

With the shit that I've done and the shit that I might

All the Bic's in the night guide the path for the flight

Half past nine now it's time to unwind

One time for ya mind

Drop the needle on the vinyl

Bumping to the beat looking so cool

You can come to my crib and flow

We can chill out the back and cypher all night yo

Yo, it seems like heaven is so far away

We can live our lives or we can die today

They say, just go on and live your own life

And have no regrets till the day that you die

If it were you and I, I'd give you all my time

I'd ask you to show me your rhymes

We could light this spliff in the night

And we can fly till we're out of sight

Moving to the beat looking so fine

You're like a parking ticket coz you're out of time

Better go home quick and tell that bitch

That I ain't coming back nah I'm sick of her shit

Ain't f*cked up more and never again

I got my friends in the mix to keep me out of the mess

So you blocked me on facebook, aren't you a smart one

I bet that solved all your problems, well done!

Little Wood Box

(Vs)

In a little wood box

lies her greatest treasure

A priceless gem

worth can't be measured

(Vs)

In a little wood box

There's a pair of shoes

A special gift

for church and school

(Ch)

She wants to run to it

Wants to look inside

But she can only sit

and stare wide eyed

There's someone talking

she can't  hear

There's music playing

soft somewhere

But she just hears the clock

as she stares at a little wood box

(Vs)

In a little wood box

There's a pair of glasses

They're custom made

In the latest fashion

(Vs)

In a little wood box

Is a little bow tie

Made it herself

for her special guy

(Ch)

Her husband helps her up

holds her close to him

walks her through the crowd

people watching them

If it wasn't for him

she couldn't move

It's seems so surreal

so untrue

And finally when they stop

she looks into that little wood box

Just eight years old

in his young prime

Made it to school

but never left this time

Her dreams shot down

in the blink of an eye

a man took his life

she still wonders why

(Vs)

In that little wood box

she brushes off his shoes

straightens his glasses

and his bow tie too

(Vs)

In that little wood box

lies her greatest treasure

A priceless gem

worth can't be measured

The Glory Ride

Music & Lyrics by David S. Becker

INTRO

VERSE 1

I'm

I'm half way there

I've had the ride of my life beside you

But there's more to share

So lets go

And pay the fare

We'll own the road as the wind

Blows back our hair

CHORUS

28 great years flew by

I won't give them back

Another 28 with you

Is all I lack

INTERLUDE

VERSE 2

Do you recall

The night we met

You made me change my shirt as I stammered

Drenched in sweat

Well I'm still

Just a bit tongue tied

With every look that you send my way

On the Glory Ride

CHORUS

INTERLUDE 2

BRIDGE

So baby hop on in

Our Glory Ride begins again

VERSE 3

Well I

I have an E-Street roll

It's smooth jazz for you by the pool

And a moonlight stroll

For you

A glass of wine and a book

I'll take a diet coke and give Die Hard

Another look

CHORUS

I'm not sure about 'best' or 'most excellent', but here's something from Al and me. :)

Anyone who's experienced the 'wide-awake-at-3am-curse' will be able to relate. ;)

Insomnia

V1

Hopeful

Ready

Into bed

Pillow soft

Beneath my head

Slide into the velvet dark

Daily cares have left their mark

Pre-chorus 1

I hold my breath now, what's that voice

Leaving me without a choice

Oh no, not again

Chorus

Insomnia, insomnia

What a ruthless captor

Insomnia, insomnia

I don't know what you're after

V2

Twisting

Turning

Tangled quilt

Ropes of sorrow

Threads of guilt

Gone the hope of healing sleep

No one here my soul to keep

Pre-chorus 2

I groan and fumble for the light

Going to be a hellish night

Oh no, not again

Chorus

Insomnia, insomnia

What a ruthless captor

Insomnia, insomnia

I don't know what you're after

Bridge

Sweet god Somnus hear my plea

Bring your healing sleep to me

Old regrets have made me tough

Is that not punishment enough?

Chorus

Insomnia, insomnia

What a ruthless captor

Insomnia, insomnia

I don't know what you're after

Don't Slam The Radio - Nick festari

Music & Lyrics: Roberto Festari

Video by Roberto Festari

don’t slam the radio

And now it's time

To turn my head around to make sure

You realize

That I’m pretending every time

I find myself before your eyes...

Before your eyes…

All the memories stolen by the pain, by the mess

All my lives and my senses blown away from my chest

You can dry all my tears but nothing will be the same

Now my friends always tell me “hey dude, oh how you’ve changed!”

… nothing to explain…

Chasing you around'n'around...

Tryin' so hard to leave it all behind, believe me

'Cause you need another chance

I can never break the chain...

Listen to the radio...

The radio plays my song for you... now!

Please don't slam the radio...

... on the ground...

Here comes the time

To throw my mask away to show you

My real side

It could be darker than your mind

The only reason that my heart

Will fall apart...

At first I believed all was so bright and so clear

Now I'm sinking too fast into the cages of fear

A complete disappointment and the wounds on my hand

Get me to feel the evil that you left in the air...

... bleeding from my head...

Chasing you around the town

Finally, I believe in someone who understands me

But I need to be redeemed

Blood is flowing down my hands

Chasing you around'n'around...

Tryin' so hard to leave it all behind, believe me

'Cause you need another chance

I can never break the chain

Listen to the radio...

The radio plays my song for you... now!

Please don't slam the radio...

... on the ground...

                               6x8

                    Written by Michael Black

https://www.facebook.com/Michael-Black-686133418235440/

CHORUS:

C’mon yeah, c’mon it’s like that, It’s like that

No mirrors to look at in my 6x8

Surrounded by hard walls that can’t even break

My knuckles, my knuckles

They gone pay for mistakes

I want my life back now

But I know it’s too late

No mirror to look at in my 6x8

Surrounded by hard walls I can’t even break

My knuckles, my knuckles

They gone pay for mistakes

I want my life back now

But I know it’s too late

With my head to my knees

And the gavel they slamming down

Before the man in the gown

I knew what was going down

I had my life back once

But look how I took it for granted

I had my freedom and peace

But damn it for a moment I had it

An addict addicted to trouble

Dealing and smoking dope

And now I’m only dealing with

Noodles and a pack of smokes

I had the comfort of home

to pee where it’s quiet

Now I’m pissing in the prison

Surrounded by riots

CHORUS:

No mirror to look at in my 6x8

Surrounded by hard walls that can’t even break

My knuckles, my knuckles

They gone pay for mistakes

I want my life back now

But I know it’s too late

No mirror to look at in my 6x8

Surrounded by hard walls that can’t even break

My knuckles, my knuckles

They gone pay for mistakes

I want my life back now

But I know it’s too late

I stayed hungry

Every day they feeding you crap

But beggars can not be choosers

So I’m throwing it back

In line to take a fast shower

They only give you minutes

At home I swear

I used to take a half an hour

Tighty whities man

I don’t even wear these

Boxers, designer belts and

Pants hung to my knees

Had the comforts at home

freedom and peace

But I’m in my 6x8

And don’t even know my release

CHORUS:

No mirror to look at in my 6x8

Surrounded by hard walls I can’t even break

My knuckles, my knuckles

They gone pay for mistakes

I want my life back now

But I know it’s too late

No mirror to look at in my 6x8

Surrounded by hard walls I can’t even break

My knuckles, my knuckles

They gone pay for mistakes

I want my life back now

But I know it’s too late

Couldn’t stay away from trouble

Or learn right from wrong

Should of listened to the words

Of another song

I was young and stupid

I spent some time in Juvie

In the big house now

Where I swore I would never would be

Wishing I was at work

And making all that bread

And listening to the speakers

Pumping in my head

Ain’t no beats up here

Some people rapping now

Sometimes I hear them shout

Get me the f*ck out

CHORUS:

No mirror to look at in my 6x8

Surrounded by hard walls I can’t even break

My knuckles, my knuckles

They gone pay for mistakes

I want my life back now

But I know it’s too late

No mirror to look at in my 6x8

Surrounded by hard walls I can’t even break

My knuckles, my knuckles

They gone pay for mistakes

I want my life back now

But I know it’s too late
