Semi-Improvised Composition

Recommended Posts

This jam was built over a cut-up loop of Beck's "Corvette Bummer" and Sly & The Family Stone's "Thank You For Talking To Me Africa." Once I had recorded the guitars, I silenced the loop and added drums with my Alesis SR-16. Of the guitars, three are run through my Q-tron wah pedal (including the bass), but the distorted guitar is not. I added effects, mostly reverb, in Cool Edit Pro 2.1. Let me know how you think my guitar performances sound. I'm rather new to expressive playing. Enjoy! Thanks.

Yep, thanks. I sometimes can't hear small differences in pitch. Other times, when I do hear the differences, I just try to work the dissonance into the piece. Anyway, I need the reminder to take care to tune up before recording any track. Thanks.
