Here And Now

just wrote this on the fly  , didn't know until it was down what it would be

the world is growing younger
as you and I grow old
that is just a fact of life
a wonder to behold
as our friends from yesterday
have sadly  pass away

 

once we were the young ones
but that was long ago
now we are the that generation
known only  as the old
don't worry what's around the bend
we'll get there in the end

 

life and death and many things
come and go so fast
there is no good worrying
how long it will last
enjoy yourself on this magic carpet ride
no-one ever left here alive

 

tomorrow is still a day away
it may never come
but don't live in yesterday
it is already done
this moment is all we have my friend
so let's live it 'till the end

A beautiful sentiment John, and something I think we should all embrace. The moments fly by so damn fast.... (sigh). Great inspiration and a lovely poem.
