J Morrison  ©  1994

was looking at some old notebooks and this is something from 20 odd years ago   thought I would try a different ending . only taken 20 years.

the mind is a house

with millions of rooms

some full of joy

others full of gloom

some hold treasures

while others are bare

some doors left open

when nobody's there

some hold pictures

in frames of gold

some hold memories

that never grow old

some rooms we visit

almost every day

some stay locked

it's better that way

but for all of the rooms

there is only one key

you know what it is

it is your memory

so try not to  lose it                                but if you lose it

because when you do                           you have our sympathy

then never again                                   for the rooms of your mind

can you enter these rooms                   should never  be empty

John, you've been a writer for so long.

This is so true. So descriptive. Great in it's simplicity and depth all at the same time.

Great little write John,

You should work on this and without modifying a great deal turn this in to a good lyric. It is so simplistic, I think it has great pontential.

Good luck
