Lyrics Writing Challenge #2 - No Rhymes

Thank so much Peggy. You are a tremendous part of the positive force here at Songstuff!

 

This challenge really hammered home the idea that when I can't rely on rhyme to assist me, I have to find words that will carry the lyric. I try to stay close to the words and their meaning when I'm writing, but it's so tempting to let rhyme do some of the work, and sometimes too much of it.

 

Not being allowed to use rhyme also produced a tension or longing of "wanting more" and I think that's what led me to write lyrics that fit that feeling. I learned a lot.

Aww, this was super-hard for me.  I discarded a few attempts.  It took me forever and I still don't know that I got i--I may be too late for this challenge, but figured I needed the personal challenge anyway.  I found this to be wicked hard!

I still have the urge to pop some rhymes in there.
