thanks John, that explanation really helped. I do like to challenge myself when it comes to song writing, but I guess I've mainly focused on artistic vision, so this will be an interesting challenge. I'm not sure that I have the skills to even write a hit song, let-a-lone produce or market one. I can see why a collaboration would be helpful. Where can I find out what the "additional filters on top of the artistic vision" would be, and how is the best place to start such a project? Listening to popular songs in a genre I prefer, and trying to imitate the production and writing? Any suggestions would be helpful. thanks

OK thanks. I understand the PR aspects, but I would have know idea how to get collaborators together on songstuff. I don't know anybody and I don't think anyone would want to collaborate with me anyway. I know it can be any style, but I'm wondering what audience we're aiming to write a hit song for, because if it has to be anything like what's popular on the radio these days, I'm not interested.

Hi, I'm Crystalsuzy and I'm happy to join this songwriters forum. I'm relatively new at this I will try answer some of the posted questions: 1. Do you sing, play an instrument or instruments? I sing(will try to), play guitar and trumpet(to some degree), and rhythm instruments and the kazoo 2. Are you in a band or bands? Yes I am in a couple of bands 3. Do you write songs? Yes I love writing songs I write both lyrics and music and sometimes collaborate with my partner 4. Do you record your music? Yes I've just recently started to record myself with garage band and learning the program as I go 5. What other roles do you perform in the music business? None 6. Are you a tech head? Nope 7. What country do you live in? Canada 8. What are your ambitions? To share my original music and enjoy listening to others I write songs about he environment, human conditions, my own personnel experiences and there is a spiritual thread that weaves throughout a lot of my songs I have no delusions about making it music industry, but it sure would be nice to have a song picked up for something, like a movie 9. Do you draw/paint/write stories/computer art/dance or other creative pursuit? I like to do all of the above including theatre/improv I am also learning to produce videos in iMovie I enjoy good movies and concerts. I enjoy performing and being on stage. I'm intro alternative healing modes and meditation and have been on a spiritual path for some time now 10. What would you like to get out of Songstuff?
