  1. I've lost my car so can relate completely although I was drunk at the time so it was a good thing lol. Good poem made me smile and that's another good thing.
  2. I agree with what you are saying one hundred percent but it would be a much better poem if you looked inward rather than outward you express well the worry you have for your grandchildren. You should go in that direction maybe express what it was like for you as a kid by looking inward because your grandchildren won't have a clue but they will if you write about it.
  3. Steven Aram is dead right I I use Mixcraft 5 and it is the easiest recording studio that I have ever had editing is easy recording is great and with a number of effects also it has digital recording with a lot of different instruments and you don't need a keyboard you can use your computers keyboard and you can download and trial for free but the latest version is Mixcraft 6 I have trialed it and it is better then Mixcraft 5 here is the link.enjoy. I think it is for Windows only and Youtube has a lot of instructional videos on how to use it which makes operating it a snack. Michael PS Any questions just ask and I will try and help. 4. Lilflirt I'd like to quote from the movie Music & Lyrics. This is the part where Brad Garrett who is Hugh Grants manager in the movie tells Hugh Grant that a famous singer wants to meet him and Hugh Grant says to Brad Garrett "pros and cons" and Brad Garrett says look at it this way (No matter what we do in 40 years we'll both be dead) So Flirt it's all the things you said just go for it because no matter what you do in 40 or maybe 60 years you'll be dead lol. But on the good side Christians believe that no matter how much wealth you accumulate or how much power you get everything fades and dies. So everything YOU do fades and dies think about that for a moment, it's pretty heavy stuff but Christians also believe that your love for others and everything you do that is good does not die or fade it goes with you to the next life. I think what they are saying is that Non material things are worth while pursuing and material things are not. Anyway that's my take on it. There is some good songstuff here. Greed, Power, Corruption, Love, Righteousness, Faith. Hope, this is pretty powerful stuff and who knows you may want to write about these things yourself Lilflirt. Knowledge is the key you must know your subject matter so if it's not something you have experienced yourself than you must read, read, and read again. I hope this helps.
  5. I had a listen to the song far out I must be getting old as I couldn't understand the lyrics but I see what you mean about the tempo. Michael

  9. Boff I think it was finn who said the feel is what's important and I agree keep it as simple as possible and let your ears guide you if it sounds good and feels good then it is good. Just fool around don't think about it just try and get chords that sound good and work together guide you. How ever you will get to a point where you can't move forward and this is were you'll need help. When ever I get stuck I use this very simple formular, firstly pick a key that goes with your voice say the key of A. Then write the first seven letters of the alphabet starting with the letter A I've written it out below then number them 1 to 7 Now find the first chord which is A and write the number one under it just like I've done in the diagram below. Now find the 4th chord and do the same thing Now find the 5th chord and do the same thing again Ok now these are the 3 major chords in the key of A and thousands of songs have been written with these 3 chords try it Boff it's as simple as that. To choose another key just start with a different letter but the formular is the same this is the basics of understanding keys which is vital to writing chord progressions. Ok I've also written out the rest of the formular as well chords 3 and 6 go under the 1st chord. 2 goes under the 4th chord and 7 goes under the 5th chord. Get your guitar out look at the diagram that I've written out you can go from left to right if you want the progression to go up Or you can go from right to left if you want it to desend again it's up to you to say to yourself does it sound good does it feel good I hope this helps. Michael A B C D E F G 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 A D E 1 4 5 CF B G 36 2 7
  10. Try changing the rhythm I've done this and it can change the tempo for instance I have a song that is mainly bass orianted in the verses but in the chorus it changes to power chords and the power chords are all down strokes then they stop suddenly and then you hear the bass part again which leads back into the verse again. It isn't a heavy metal song but with distortion it could be and the tempo does go faster in the chorus, I hope this helps. Michael
  11. Tom I totally relate to this only difference is I think I am senile for coming back lol. Michael
