  1. So it looks like over 40% of us are lazy and dont change our strings often enough? I feel less guilty in your company guys
  2. He would've been great in that band too. Skunk, Animal & Zoot. What an outfit! PS. That is a great vid.
  3. Murder in my Heart for the Judge - Moby Grape
  4. There are 2 sax players in my band. I will ask (this may take some 10 days though).
  5. Its as well to get this out in the open early on. There is the famous example of the split of Robbie Robinson & the Band, who resented his writers share. Some band members have been known to claim a share of a song because they worked out their part of it (bass line or drum pattern). This is not really writing however.
  6. Panama Red - New Riders of the Purple Sage ...errr... Camptown Races - Foghorn Leghorn
  7. I have hit a brick wall with PPL registration. I have pre-registered (not completed) for ISRC account Performer account Rights Holder account Now I am being asked for bank details, sort code etc for payments. I do not wish to make any money out of my music. Just to ensure my music is copyrighted. Have I wasted my time doing this? I cant complete the forms with out doing all this stuff? Rudi
  8. Mr. Charlie (Told Me So) - Grateful Dead
  9. Circus Lights - Deacon Blue http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFC0_nt2hCk

It was fun. I couldnt get the whole thing on screen though so had no idea how to play/record.
  11. Yes, we are drawn to the difference / dissonance, but still need it to come out tidy in the end. Good examples in those links Mike. They make the point perfectly. I'm working on a different piece now, and using a riff which 'suggests' a flattened 5th where there is'nt one. I always think of a flattened 5th as a special note. It belongs nowhere except in transition, and it pretty much always sounds good. I am starting to think of music as a sort of narrative (or have that potential anyway), where the music can tease the listener and even lead him astray a little bit. Actually, it nice place to be.
  12. big bad bill is sweet william now - Ry Cooder http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKidNRjD3R0
  13. I would want the job of restringing that pikasso. I saw something similar played to the YouTube example a year ago (it was a special commission).
  14. (you lost me Tom) anyway... Fast Car - Tracy Chapman
  15. Green River - Creedence Clearwater Revival
  16. Great offer! If my own were not such a mess, I would seriously consider it. If you're still offering after I've done a 'more disciplined' work. I will likely say 'yes please'. That's a really good contribution to the site Gregg. atb Rudi
  17. Hey Mary, Sweet. I enjoyed that. Thanks for posting. Rudi
  18. Hi Mary, Great to have a classical presence around here. Cello is my favourite string. When I go to see the Havant Orchestras I make a point of booking seats right of center adjacent to cellos. I am also from Portsmouth (the old one, with the Victory, Mary Rose & Warrior at the docks museum). Welcome to SS.
  19. Man you're fast Tom! Alligator Man - Stoneground
