[best software for recording vocals]

Latency is controlled by your soundcard/interface and whatever drivers you use, not the software. Any of the main DAW's are fine for vocals, I use Sonar Professional by Cakewalk with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 interface. A decent vocal mic and interface are essential, but needn't cost the earth, my interface and a Rode NT-1 mic with stand and pop filter cost around £200.

Hello folks, James G here in South West Scotland. I'm a guitarist and part of a duo called 'Nettlesmith' with singer/songwriter Tim Wilkinson. I also write and record instrumental music of my own.
