  1. I am currently in difficult times. I don’t think I will be doing music anymore. Thanks for following me, and the nice compliments!

Be well! You can always visit the site if ya just want to pop in from time to time. :-)

  2. Hey there!🙂 great to see you! Have a great time!
  3. For me, this is why I am here. I don’t think rock n roll is dead. Maybe asleep. Not dead. I am a rock fan, who writes rock music. Not horribly either. I think there is still another Beatles, Stones, Zep, out there! Maybe someone just needs to try harder to write that “hook” to a nice bluesy grimy rock n roll riff, instead of a dj. Hang up the pro tools and put your butt in the studio with your band and record the songs in a day, instead of a year. Just my take on that.🙂
  4. So far, drums first here. Bass next, guitars, vocals. I think I’m most comfortable with writing to a rhythm section.
  5. Hey Monte! Great to have ya here! Pull up a chair and join the fun!
  6. Yep. Hook is a better way of terming what i was saying about chorus. Nice!👍
  7. I usually have some kind of riff, or even drumbeat before my lyrics come. Lyrics come to me in bunches at any givin time. I text them to myself and use those texts to write songs. Pretty simple. I don’t ever really “try” to write a piece of music. It just happens.
  8. These are guesses and takes: Refrain. I think that is a subtle calm before a bridge or chorus that gives the piece a chance to expand before a build up. Chorus: Usually a repetitive line or paragraph sang by background vocalists that ties the verses together. 🙂
  9. For me, its always really just letting it out. Using my own voice. I have a tendency to be timid, and sometimes catch myself trying to emulate instead of create. A lot of times, my vocals are much better when I just use my natural voice. I have yet to master this myself. But, its popped up a few times at rehearsal and home.
  10. What is critiquing someone elses music like to me?

It’s really very simple. The second a song starts playing, I put myself in my car listening to it as it comes on the radio or something. It’s fairly raw and more of a fans critique than a more musically knowledgeable persons critique may be. Just a different style of critique I guess. ✌️🤘

  11. Kinda interesting to ask yourself some of these questions. At least for me.
  12. Down. By me. All instruments and vox are me. The youngster is my hilarious, and very cool grandson.

This is a riff that’s turning into a song. I have sooooo many cool plans for this. Some strings, and a tasty guitar solo. Can’t wait to arrange it and finish it. The guitars at the end are a mix of a bunch of different guitar stuff i was doing. Probably won’t be in the final song.

Not too shabby for a rough tune. If you want more comments I'd suggest posting this in the song critique section with lyrics and whatnot.

  13. My song Mr Preacher. Not the best recording, but I’m working on that. Thanks for listening! All instruments and vocals are me.

  14. I don’t mind at all🙂Thanks again for havin me!
