  1. Hi Kadia, welcome. To receive feedback, you need to place this in a critique forum, like Song & Recording Critique for example. If you have a promo video or something to showcase, but not looking for feedback, place in one of those such forums. Take the time to look around and understand the 2 for 1 rule, where you need to critique to other songs mimimum for your 1, in a critique forum. Look at the top of a forum to understand the posting rules. Thx
  2. Hiya Ali & welcome. My 1st burning question would be 'can' Ali, but of course Ali Can I'm really excited too that you're here. Can see great things happening
  3. Hiya. So we're not talking about the content, just the idea, this back & forth, push and pull battle, yes? In that case, the idea is a good one, on the basis it's not been done before, where two rappers are on a stage trying to upstage the other. But in the dark recesses of my memory, sure I recall once seeing this done
  4. The Carstairs - He Who Picks A Rose (me too Tom)
  5. Bob, if you've music to share, then post it in a new topic say in the Showcase area - where no feedback is required. If you want some critique or feedback, then make a new topic in the Song & Recording section, but please note the critique at least 2 other songs before you post yours I'd also recommend you get either a Soundcloud or Reverbnation account (or both) open for showcasing your music (as in upload it to one or both, then link to it here).
  6. All sounds good Bob. Why have you joined Songstuff? (starting to sound like an interview now )
  7. And so it should Welcome Blue, do what you do
  8. And it'll b mine to write so keep your mitts off
  9. Hi Tase, nice intro, welcome Where I am is at a crossroads, with new understanding borne through SS 'Tis a good time to be here
  10. Well there's free notation stuff out there. If that's all you're missing, just get that. Mixcraft is a mixer/DAW, on the low end - very good for what it is. But that doesn't sound like that's what you want/need. I'm trying to grasp what it actually is you want to do. I think you want to put your Fender through to your laptop, the app recognise what you're playing and apply that to sheet music and then allow you to write lyrics that can also go onto the sheet music - yes?
  11. I agree Steve, and those names he gave, they're top drawer notation stuff I'm sure, for piano's etc.
  12. Good question Thought they did a Garage Band for Windows, no? There's something I have buried somewhere, have to root around to find a name. Was pretty simple and sure it did all 3 things you want But GB does the same also.
  13. From those three you've mentioned Don, I recall they are notation programs, for actually writing the music sheets yes? That is what you're after yes? There's so much software today, just wanted to clarify.
  14. Jon, I worked for a company for many years, looked upon as a reputable company, the biggest of it's kind in the area it worked. I even 'began' as a telesales person, but we weren't called that. It was a commission only sales job. We had to scour every known and unknown resource to find a name and contact details, then contact those names with a script. We said anything to make an appointment, to make everything sound 'PLAUSABLE & ABOVE BOARD", just so they'd say yes. No mention whatsoever at anytime of money. 100% gullible, because once they were in that meeting, they weren't allowed to leave until they'd signed = money. You ever been in a Timeshare companies office? I hope you never find yourself in one! You've made this plausable because you read and understood the way you want to read it. If you take offense at my candid words, it isn't meant for that, it's meant to give you a proverbial wake up call. I had a very well spoken young lady call me the other day, stating she was a Junior Consultant and that she wanted to offer me a free consultation with a Senior Consultant. FOUR times I said no thx, giving her the reason and FOUR TIMES she didn't listen, just went right on asking me when would I like the meeting to take place. Now zip over to Nashville, and an unknown songwriter trying to get 'their' foot in the door. To pay the rent, they take a commission only job. Their job is to scour the internet world for 'would be you's' that put their contact info in plain sight. Then send out a script to every single one, and see who takes the bait. It's a numbers game. He might hate doing this job, but hey he's got to live and if you're fool enough to fall for this from the get go, not his problem, thank you very much for my rent cheque. Since we're all trying to save you time, energy, getting your hopes up etc, and at the end of the day money - I can't wait until I read you prove us all wrong. Go for it. Any newbies reading this, please do your homework through searching the net - don't just take 'our' word Good luck Jon
  15. Hi Layne, Welcome to the good ship SS You could post a topic in the collaboration area, setting out what you are looking for Take the time to read up, look around and let people know who you are, by giving critique, joining in discussions etc. It's good to give, because you learn so much more in the process Also, read up on critiquing to really understand it, to appreciate what other may say about your lyrics - keep your ears open as they're helping with the best will in the world
