  1. This is a great place to find your way
  2. If it works the way you want it to Bojo, no problem Thanks Donna - it looks feature packed !!!!! Will have to look at more closely.
  3. Sorry Bojo, I'm still missing something. I create a new folder called lyrics. Any lyrics I write on the desktop/laptop etc are saved to that folder = all in one place. Then regardless of what program I use to open the lyrics up in (as I can choose many dependent on what I'm doing with them) after, they are not dependent on the program I use but on the location "I choose". Same with music I create. All in one place. And emailing etc, well I use email which is through the web or an email client. Then all my email is in one place too! What am I missing? That the app you are demo'ing for the purpose of lyrics predetermines for you the folder location?
  4. Welcome back Just a heads up 4 u, here works the other way round. You give feedback to others first and then you post yours
  5. Well 1st, aside from following Tom's instructions to the letter !!!, what do you want to do? Who are you? Did you know you are in the section to "Introduce Yourself" Can we know a little bit about you please? This helps us to often help you without the syndrome of 'the blind leading the blind' You can complete your profile, add yourself to the members map etc. Then take a week or so to really go through the forums and actually read the rules, guidelines and a lot of the posts and blogs members make here in each section. Then you'll have a good idea of what you can do, what's good for you, what will help you etc - and most importantly of all ....... how you can be a part of the community and help others. If you are new to online forums, this is the best way to get your feet wet - by watching what other members do, how they do it etc. Looking forward to knowing you better
  6. Hey Alex, browse through the songwriting section (and not just the 1st page ) and you'll get the hang of things etc.
  7. Well as a community here to help "each other", hit and runs get nothing back so adding your thoughts or critique (helping) is a small payment for some self promotion (me thinks lol ). Welcome to SS.
  8. Depends how you're writing the lyrics to be organised! If you're just using a basic notepad type file, then it's just a file system you need to put in place. I must be missing something you are doing!
  9. Great intro, glad to meet you Reynir
  10. Gain some confidence by reading others lyrics and the critique etc given. No one says you have to post right now your songs
  11. Bandalone, hi. Here gives you the chance to say who you are, not link to music/songs. Give us some background please and then head onto the music critique forum to ask for feedback. But please remember, give some critique first before posting. Welcome to SS
  12. Also sounds like you know a thing or two to help steer other unknowing members clear of the potholes - welcome
  13. You'll do great here so don't worry
  14. I honestly don't think it is as simple as cut and paste. Head on over to the "recording industry technology" section and start reading up. If you've an IPhone or android phone, search online for music making apps. You can get free loops off the web, but then you need an app to put it into to begin making a cohesive sound (like a DAW). There's "Band in a Box". It all depends what you have to begin with (PC specs) and if you are willing to pay for software or go the free way. I'd say, TBH, you need to spend a while first just researching online and honing down what it really is you want to do. But take some time to go through the lyric section to get some grounding and background on structure etc. And pls remember, we can help a lot but it really is down to you to do the leg work initially.
  15. Ok, you're back to zero Since this is the intro, it's now time to move your website question out into the masses; musicians lounge or music industry perhaps. Now go forth and multiply. But a word of caution - SS is a community about helping each other, feedback and critique. In other words, give something before just asking! Hit and runs get zero back and since you are at zero, build up a little street cred for yourself by actually partaking in and being active with other peoples posts 1st This advice is on a take it or leave it basis. However, if you leave it, don't cry about the results
  16. Hi, since this part of the site is about saying who you are, what you do, what you hope for etc (that's why it is called introduce yourself), could you please introduce yourself? That way you'll make more friends here who will then be happy to help
  17. Yep, + 10 points for a good "personal" intro. I loved the way you tagged on to playing the piano how you play with your laptop Once you've got the English sorted, maybe then we can try and comment on your site because to be honest, your 1st post here sounded like you were offering people a way to download music for free. I'm not saying you are doing that, it just sounded that way. So, after sorting out your website, you then have a few choices: Add your link to your (or as your) post signature Get involved in the community in some way, such as responding to relevant posts that are in your area of interest - then people will see your siggy Put a post together about what you're doing (nice and clearly) in the Ads board Create a new post (or a blog here) in the "right" forum explaining to other members what your doing, how you are doing it and any problems you met along the way and how you overcame them (eg translation) - i.e. help other people who are stuck through your experiences. Those are just for starters. You see, if you start out the right way, SS can and will be your best friend. ps - to get back to zero from -10, sort the translation out
  18. Tells us more about you so there is more to like
  19. Hey Moritz, the English doesn't seem to work at all, so a -10 from me Seems to me too, that you're here to plug (as in spam) your blog, rather than "Introduce Yourself" to the SS community -10 So you currently have a score of -20. Good luck
  20. Hey Kendrick, nice to meet you - welcome to SS
