This would make a great country gospel song if you could develop a chorus.

It is already a country gospel song.  I worked with chorus' but singing it, the first and last verses made good chorus'.

If I owned my own river
I would buy myself a boat.
I would float down that river
Singing a song that I wrote.

 

If I owned a lake of money
I would rent a big dump truck.
I would fill it full of money
and help poor families
down on their luck.

 

If I was a real magician
And my magic was really real.
I would wave my magic wand
and all the sick would be healed.

 

If I was a gospel preacher
I'd preach God's word from shore to shore.
And all lost souls who become believers
could live in heaven for ever more.

 

And If I was an evangel singer
my tongue would be a gospel sward.
We would all raise our voices
and sing praises to our lord.

 

If I owned my own river
I would buy a thousand boats.
we would all float down that river
singing all the gospel songs I wrote.

This brings back memories that cannot be forgotten.  My heart goes out to the person this poem is about.  You as the writer have done very well.  Not too long, not too short, flows well and to the point.

[Supreme Dream]

I almost lost my wife a few short months ago.  She died in my arms.  It was only by the grace of God that I was able get her back.  I hadn't been thanking God enough lately for my wife and our salvation. That has now changed after reading this reminder that God inspired you to write and me to read.  It's 2:30 am now. I couldn't sleep. So here I am. Now I can sleep.

 

I thank you, and I thank God.

[The Rock]

This is actually a pretty neet little poem.  Who pays much attention to rock breaking the waters surface?  But, it is there for a reason.  It makes me think of God and Nature working together.  I'm impressed.

This is absolutely "Awesome"

 

Youth at it's most innocence.  Parental admiration oozing with love.  And, what will tomorrow bring?.

 

All put into a short poetic masterpiece.

 

I'm going to make sure my daughter reads this. She has given me grand children who are still babies.

She will love it.

 

Gotta go now.  Time to soak my feet.

From where I'm sitting; on the pot, I need a bigger pot now.  Oh, sorry.. it's my openion; You have given this work "The Perfect Title".  And, I would'nt change a thing.  If you are happily depressed, it does'nt matter what you say.  It's expected not to be perfect or even logical. The lines you have written here are perfectly what I would expect a depressed person to say. If someone says you should change the way you said it, "Who gives a crap".  You're Depressed". You said what you said and loved it. So leave it said and enjoy it.

 

Having had some experience with a little depression once myself, that's just my openion.  Nice work, Real nice!  Gotta go now, bye.
