Hey, Uhm, Im an multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter, and I've been looking for some real critiquing of my songs, I was in a serious touring band, we recorded and EP but we broke up about a year ago, and as I had no input on the lyric writing I have no real judge of my stuff, so I thought I'd come somewhere like here, I've been writing my whole life, and have been spending the last year teaching myself more instruments, and fine tuning my lyrics, my youtube page has some covers up, because although I can write lyrics, and I can compose music, I have alot of trouble composing music TO lyrics, anyway, Hope you guys can give me some good input, thanks

Hi and welcome to Songstuff I tend to get the gist of the melody first and use that as a basis for the lyrical rhythm, then go back and forward tweaking. That saves me getting to precious with the lyrics, which in itself can make writing a good melody for existing lyrics hard. Good to have you aboard
