Prologue to Murder

Oh heart, why do you burn with rage?

Oh mind, why do you scourge?

For I now with lust do feel

The urge to break and crush and kill!

The fragility of her throat

My hands around do feel

And now I am beyond Gods grasp

Now I must, must kill.

This flame inside won't cease to burn

Until I know I've killed

And all the power that I have

Goes slowly to my finger tips.

My hands turn cold and numb with rage

Her eyes begin to glaze

And now my hands as hard as steel

Begin to rip and crush and kill.

They squeeze and twist that lovely neck

Life breath is going fast

And from inside I seem to feel

A faint but clear, a crackling snap!

Her body goes limp inside my grasp

She's limp and clammy cold

Her eyes are still

There is no fight left anymore.

But now, my hands turn warm again

I have regained my self control

My blood flows back into my veins

But I have lost my soul forever more.

An unexpected piece from you that caught me off guard. It's not a really delightful experience to get inside the mind of a serial killer, but then again this wasn't meant to be pleasant.

You've captured the scene quite perfectly, almost gave me chills...

To give you some background on this one, I wrote it when I was your age in 1956. I was mad at my study hall teacher who would not give me a hall pass to go to the library to take a scheduled MMPI test. I never acted on the impulse but did leave a copy on her desk!
