Hey guys,

I have a full hour set that will air on Savage Night Radio on October 20th. I "linked" a clip to my youtube channel. Please give me your feedback and I hope to see you there! Also, let me know if you have any questions regarding what I'm doing. I'm performing live, all improvised, with vocals.

Hi,

The obvious question is what is the perspex panel about? Have you ascribed key functions to it or is an actual instrument?

To me the obvious question is... WHAT THE F#@K IS THAT THING?  :lol2:

Sounds good and looks like loads of fun to play.

The panel is not its own instrument. It's 4 Quneos attached to an acrylic panel that I put together myself. I put velcro tape to attach the Quneos to the panel so that I can remove them if I need to. Very solid.

The Quneos are basically a super MIDI controller and they are controlling the synth instruments within Ableton 9. I built some instruments (sounds) myself by following youtube tutorials and tweaking some of the presets. Then I created 1 midi track for each Quneo. (4 Midi tracks total) Within each respective midi track, I put in an instrument rack, which basically allows you to drop in as many instruments as you want. I dropped in the 12 sounds I built. (4 different instruments or sounds on each of the four midi tracks) I'm mostly using Analog & Operator (Two synths that come with Ableton Suite).

Each Quneo is able to control an unlimited number of instruments but 12 is more than enough. As I continue to build sounds, my instrument racks will expand. I have a lot to do in my "to do" list first. I still have to incorporate the launchpad into the mix by having it control live drums samples, loops, and clip packs (dj effects that run over time for a specified number of bars).

Right now, I have 4 different sounds that I'm happy with for each Quneo. I'm trying to keep it simple. (The on/off buttons for each respective instrument are assigned to the APC40) This allows me to switch instruments with the push of a button for each Quneo.

Does that answer the question?

It is a lot of fun to just jam.

I'll start there then... a Quneo is a MIDI controller that works best in Ableton. Basically, you can make it act as an instrument by assigning notes to the pads... There are "max 4 live" devices that do this automatically in any key and mode you wish. You can also use the Quneo to control any parameter within your DAW. You could make a pad launch a sample... turn on/off an effect, turn a knob. In ableton there is a "midi learn" function where you click on a knob in your software instrument, push on the fader in your Quneo... and BAM!... fader controls knob. Next question?

I checked out your (unwise bill) website... heard "Traveler's Tune"... really good! Good melodies. Lyrics are crystal clear. "If you find yourself standing on a corner while you're thinking of a different world..."

Thanks for looking.

Blown Out is just a covers band though. Myself & the singer are the only ones into original songs.
