I love writing songs!

I live in Melbourne, Australia.

I'm unpublished.

I'm proud to have won every song writing competition I've ever entered - a grand total of 2!

One was for a science magazine, and was technical and inspiring song about the Standard Model of subatomic physics set to the tune of Eye of the Tiger. I can't recall what the other was but I got a bunch of a cryptography books as a prize so it is probably related to that. I have a bad memory and a very dramatic attitude.

I like songs with multiple layers of meaning, and those designing to elicit conflicting feelings. I enjoy literature that explores complex emotions, and reading about the history of Western philosophy. I hope to weave interesting themes into my future writing - but I haven't the impetus yet. Maybe someone wi ll see my lyrics and sponsor me!

I have no formal training in Western music, but have studied a bunch of Indian classical music.

I really enjoy Marina & the Diamonds music at the moment. I listen to her while doing other things for hours and hours a day.

I work as an editor of a small UK based publication while studying in Melbourne.

I'm joining this forum because I think what we do is exciting, fun and I'd like to get better at it!

Hope to get to know you some forum members better over the next while.
