Looking forward to meeting everyone and joining in the discussions.

 

I'm a songwriter & musician. I have a home recording setup and enjoy songwriting, composing lyrics, arranging and putting lyrics to music for others. I'm getting back into it after a hiatus of a few years.

 

I have composed original songs all my life and studied lyric writing. I've performed for audiences ranging in size from five to five thousand and usually play out once a month for around 1,500 people.

Hey Gary, You are either retro or showing your age! Do young people even know what vinyl records are?!!! I have all my favorites still stored in a handy cardboard box... somewhere...follow the dust and I'm sure I'll find it! lol

So glad  you found Songstuff! I hope you like it as much as I do. I can't wait to hear some of your work. There are a lot of lyricist on the boards looking for composers to put a melody to their stuff so you should fit in very nicely here.

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, liking vinyl shows my age.

 

Lisa, that is great that there are a lot of lyricists on the forum. When I took a class on songriting, it was interesting that most of the ladies were great at lyrics but lacked desired musical talent. The men of the group were the opposite, being mostly music composers and not lyricists. A lot of good writing teams, and songs, came out of that mix.

Yes, old album covers make great decorations for the music room! I line the wall behind my guitars with funny ones I find in thrift stores. My favorites are Polka albums. I just have one pic but you get the idea....

Ha! It used to be the nursery. My oldest daughter wants to paint the Teddy bears with spked hair, eye patches, guitars and and tatoos.
