Your Own Artwork

Originally posted in June 2021, I've added my other album art, from newest to oldest.  3 digital releases, the oldest was an actual CD cover!!!  All done using Illustrator.

- Not All It Seems REDUX (2022) - a complete home-studio re-do/update of the original 2002 CD.  I went for a similar visual vibe to the original, but used a real (enhanced) photo vs a painting.

- The Flat White Album (2020) ... was using the vibe from "The Beatles" (aka the "White Album").   Overall white,  30 tracks, and all written on acoustic guitar.

Logo complete - text and circle - GREG B 3000.jpg

- Prescient (2015) ... the bytes spell 'Prescient' from top to bottom, one byte/letter per line.

Not All It Seems (2002) - a first album as songwriting and studio newbs.  The picture was part of one of Mike's landscape paintings.

Whoa, these are really good.  I think that usage of the burnt orange to offset the ink in the second one and particularly like the one at the top.  What kind of brush do you use?  I've been thinking about emptying out some pens and getting a calligraphy brush to create art that's supposed to call to mind those ink blots they used to use in psychotherapy.  It'd probably kind of like this, actually, though, perhaps, not quite so well done.

Thank you, glad you liked these...

Both of these works are from the early 80's.... they illustrated two songs of mine in my songbook.  I used rotring drafting pens, rotring  black drafting ink, and a medium thickness paint brush that I had lying around.

The more abstract artwork accompanied my song "Holding Hands" https://fb.watch/fY6LGGUGPE/ while the one with the "orange moon"

accompanied my song "Best of Friends"

I went through a phase of designing watch faces for Android (WearOS) watches a couple of years ago. I tried to make them unique and interesting with working mechanisms (which tended to drain the battery pretty quickly).  Here are some of my works...

Other than this, most of my design work has been logos, and my real job is taking photographs.

I could never get used to Adobe Illustrator, but I did discover Affinity Designer which I click with quite well.  I'm definitely not an artist, but this software really helped me get my creative art out there. I use Photoshop and Lightroom for photo editing.

I used to have a web site portfolio, and my latest version was abandoned, but has some of my older work on it...

I'm lucky to be a salaried photographer these days, work mostly 9-5, and don't have to look for work, which was the part I hated the most.
