Hi, my name is Nick and I am 15 years old. I have been writing songs since i was like 12 or 13 or something, ever since i learned to play the guitar. I love writing songs not only to convey messages to others, but also just to get my feelings out on paper. I really don't know if i am any good at it, but i know that i enjoy doing it, and thats why i write. Some of my biggest influences for songwriting are Bright Eyes, The Clash, Bob Dylan, and others. I am a huge fan of green day, but i cannot write songs like theirs just because the chord progressions are too simple. I understand the euphoria of a simple power chord sequence, but whenever i try to write a song that way it ends up feeling incomplete. I like all types of music, and i would like to pursue a career in it someday.

I know what you mean about writing simple chord sequences. I listen to a lot of rock but find it boring to write and play.
