Hey there!

Hey everyone. Just created my account today so I thought I’d introduce myself quickly.

So, I’m 15, soon to be 16. I’ve been playing music for 9 or ten years now. I started out with guitar but since then I’ve picked up the bass as well as the synthesizer. I started composing / writing music about a year ago and I was looking for a place to discuss with other musicians, so that’s how I came upon this website.

As for my musical tastes, I listen to pretty much anything but I especially love the following genres: extreme metal, punk, grunge, alternative rock, hip hop and any kind of experimental stuff really. I generally write rock-ish songs but I’ve recently discovered a passion for making instrumental hip hop beats. My main problem with composition is that I get bored quite easily and so I’ll often leave a track half-finished. Because of this, I’ve only recorded one song that I consider finished so far. But then again: I’m just starting right? Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this but here’s the said track I’ve finished, hoping you’ll enjoy!

Anyways, that’s me haha. Have a great day y’all!

wow you present yourself as very matured.

you'll write more complete songs soon, and have plenty of time.. but you'll never get past having an abundance of incomplete ones. that just allows you to steal from yourself sometimes!

your song sounds a lot better than my first song - in terms of melodic ideas, overall production, and musical content.

Good to have you on the site and can't wait to see what else you post

Hi Jasper,

I didn't start until I got my first guitar at 15, so you're way ahead. Find that discipline to finish. The last 5% is always the hardest.

And if you like confrontational punk metal you might like the Brutal album in my Youtube channel, which I did with some local musicians, including Big John Duncan of punk band The Exploited and Goodbye Mr. McKenzie, which also featured Shirley Manson of Garbage, who unbeknown to us were doing a similar (more accessible) thing at the same time, though with a better studio, budget and producer. :) It was nearly all improvised over basic drum loops, then I sampled the interesting bits and created the tracks from those.
