Song writer looking for a sound to match

I’ve been writing for about ten years. I’ve written the first drafts of two novels and lyrics to 12 songs. If I were to compare my lyrics to a specific artist, it would be John Mayer. The "nickname captain"?  hehe ok! Yes I'm writing A novel, it'll be a beaut when we are all dead and buried haha.  You should post some of your lyrics if you like on the lyric critique thread!  There's so much talent here.

captain Capo, that's awesome John!  Hehe, I utilize my capo quite a bit so why not LOL
