Walk With Me

Pink little cowboy boots trying to keep up

With the giant of a man walking up front

With a tear in her voice and a skinned knee

She says, “Daddy, please walk with me

Chorus 1

I don’t want you too far ahead

Dad’s gotta protect their girls I remember you said

I’m scared you might get lost if you fall behind

I think the perfect place for you is by my side

Now she’s glad to see a nervous smile light up

As she walks down the aisle glowing with love

With a tear in her voice she gives his hand a squeeze

And says, “Everyday from now on, walk with me

Chorus 2

You don’t need to run ahead to clear a path

Only together can the good times get us through the bad

And when the storms come, the sun’s not far behind

And that perfect place for you is by my side

Bridge

Every journey begins with one step

And our footprints side by side, I’m sure is what God meant

A gray bearded man shuffles his feet

Tired from a life that he now fights to keep

There’s silver in her hair, slowness in her feet

She leans on him and whispers, “Walk with me”

Chorus 3

I remember the times you tried to run ahead

But you stayed right here so you could hold my hand

52 years is one hell of a ride

And that perfect place for you is still by my side

Chorus 4

I promised you forever that’s what it will be

And we’re just getting started don’t you see

We’ve got golden streets for eternity

Oh, they’ll be perfect for you to walk with me

Very touching song!

Thanks for the kind words.  I saw in your interests that you are interested in writing with others.  I write mostly country with a little light rock when the moment strikes.  I write lyrics and play guitar good enough to at least make a melody; I think.  If you're interested at all in trying to hammer something out let me know.

I do like collaborating.

What type of genre do you like to write?  I'm mostly country and some light rock but am open to growing to new areas if those styles aren't for you.

Do you write music and lyrics?

Yes I do both.  I also collaborate as much as I can.  Of course I write and compose for my own stuff, but sometimes I write lyrics for other music or music for their lyrics.

I have been doing some stuff on Kompoz.com for years, and have had some fun times there.

I recently worked with Michan and Jellycot here on a song More than Lies, which I think turned out really well.

Yeah, it was a pleasure to work with @ccarnucci and JC! :)

I´m back in Japan, so I got time again to work in music, just in case you need vocals again! I have to finish 3 songs first, but I´m down to collab for singing or back if required, as well ^^

Collabs are the best thing ever! ^^

Awesome!  Glad to have you back around.  I have some irons in the fire so I'll reach out.

Thanks @Philip Spillman!

lYeah... with one thing and another I´ve been doing NOTHING related to music the last 2 months almost. So, I have to catch up some WIP and start new projects (after remembering how to sing properly, haha).

Drop me a PM if you have something in mind. I´ll be glad to help, I like your songs so much!

By the way, the final version of the song Chris was commenting, just if you didn´t check see it in the critique forum, is here.

At the end I think we will go with that first version of the song!

See you around! :):):)
