I think these Christmas dates usually stir feelings in all of us ... They take me back to my childhood, to my parents' house, to the ghosts that lived there ... But they are all fantasies because I think that the memories already They are not how they happened but we dress them in different costumes as time goes by.
Anyway in this song I have found something that I have been looking for for a long time, that something does not have a name but it suits me well.

In this thread I will share the songs that will be born from this idea Hunting ghosts

Stay well

Mora

I wape up
in the night
and I listen
to the silence

while the darknesss softens
as the hours pass
and life dawns

My cats play in the hallway
chasing ghosts and other friends

Everything is contrast
between black and white

Fading shadows
in the reality
of your memory

oh mummy oh mummy

I caress the pillow
to shelter me
in its so warm heat
and tears
finally
they release the pain
that these days give me

oh mummy oh mumyy

Hi Mora,

I really enjoyed this. I believe I mentioned to you before that I am a fan of blank verse. I subscribed to your youtube channel this evening.

You definitely have a cosmopolitan European cultural influence which is prominent. Most Americans are so conformist their music is almost interchangeable within their genres although I also stylistically lean toward a different musical vision with more complex influences.

I have 4 tracks on Spotify if you are interested.

3 are here https://open.spotify.com/album/5bqhNA8Rnf4LtqjLQCp8xH

1 is here https://open.spotify.com/track/2IZnyeNdU7d9Mj8ffX5KaY

If you would like to personal message me I would enjoy hearing more about your creative process. I am only here sporadically so it may take a while to hear back.

Many times I think of the sound of Night, I love darkness because it makes me look for light swimming among my own waters.

This song talks about the Night and her voice. I hope you like it. Stay well

Night of echoes
that appear in the ear
with distant insistence

Footsteps looking for themselves
among their own mists

Night full of streets
that only exist
where dreams are lost

Night that reveals the depth of the dark
around the light of a street lamp

Naked night of everything
tell me if you saw me pass
because Time stopped
but I didn't stop walking

i saw a woman
that without running  ran
dressed in the sadness t
hat a lost girl has

Hola guys!!!

This song is a fusion of many styles, as I do generally... But this time I think that I carried the arrangement through other skies... I am not sure of the title, which could be better Hell has no doors or I am still a woman?

but I do love, love, love, the chorus!

Stay welllll

Mora

HELL HAS NO DOORS

I did not know that  to live
I had to die so many times
you were the one that taught me
that you could steal my soul
each time you drank  my kisses
and that hell has no doors
it just appeared suddenly
in your gaze and in your mouth

you are the god who undid me
and remade me by putting on
a tin heart
like yours

but you can't avoid
that the hole in which it dwells
remember what it is to feel

I'm still a woman
I'm  melody
wood to make beams
and chalk to paint windows
in the darkness of a corner

I'm still a woman
full of strength to get out of myself

Of the two I Am Still A Woman. Hell Has No Doors sounds more like a Metal song title.

You might also consider I Am Melody and change the contraction I'm on that line to I am.

Love your work! You stand outside the mainstream but also "fit" at the same time with the combination of your music and video imagery.

One lastr thing, the next time you post start a new topic. You're losing listeners by staying under one topic title. I completely missed your addition before this one until today.

Hola @Clay Anderson Johnson

Thank you!

I would like to do it like this, upload an independent topic each time but the Moderator indicates, or so I have understood, that we have to create a single thread that you update with the following topics. It's not like that?

It would be wonderful if not!

Thank you

Actually that is a misunderstanding. Each song is a different topic.

You should be posting on Showcase, the premier forum for completed works, unless you are asking for Video Critique or Song Critique in which case you should post under those headings.

I see little to critique in your work as it appears to be a finished product but I could be wrong. You would have to make that determination.

I only post under Showcase with completed works or under Musicians Lounge for discussion topics.

Wow! Thank you so much! I'll do it for sure... may be now.

Stay well there

Hi Mora.

"Chasing Ghosts".  I've just listened/watched. It's totally outside my creative wheelhouse, but I LOVE'd it.  Both the music and video were dreamlike, brain-wormy, edgy and fresh.

Your voice has a marvellous style/timbre that tugs on my memory, but I can't quite place it as yet ... an older Marianne Faithful perhaps? But there's also a French artist who'll I'll advise if it ever comes to mind :)

The music behind the voice had an atmospheric simplicity but had a great arrangement/production that kept it fresh throughout, and was well played and recorded.

The video was fresh and really effective, a perfect companion to the audio!

It's a shame the video didn't have any credits showing who wrote, played, recorded ... and also who created the video.

I look forward to sifting through your other materials.

Cheers,

Greg

Hola @GregB

Thank you very much for your nice comment.

It's me who does everything, I write the lyric, I create the backing,  make the arrangement, record the voice,  do the mix and then I record the necessary scenes for the video, I make the video, edit it and that's it!!! I do everything except guitars, I play guitar and bass very badly lol This task is done by Marcus Nalgaber, a great guitarist that puts the icing on my cake. and that's it!!!

Stay well

Hola Mora,

I have gotten as far as 'Chasing ghosts and other things'. There is an eclectic mix to the song. I like it. Your style is your own and like Greg B I was interested in the division of labour of the songs...they are mysterious (which is a good thing). Wow, you do words, music, arrangement and video. Prolific output. You are very driven. That said, there is some great guitar work on this song by Marcus.

I realise that there are two more songs here. I plan to critique them a little later.

Buenos Noches,

Chris
