Hi all,

Published 'Fed a False Concept' on YouTube earlier tonight. It would be great if some of the Songstuff community could give it a listen and add a comment please. More songs to follow soon ('about' in theGarageJump YouTube channel provides more details) The link was playing up a bit. Here it is. I have posted the lyrics below. Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Fed a False concept

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie. Got so big I got a lookalike. Feel uptight, yet to find out why. Thought this happened to the other guy.

I’d like to be anonymous. I’d like to be a little bit free. I am all the things that you say I am and some that you can’t see.

Culture of celebrity. There for you to chase. Controlled through television. Controlled by cyberspace.

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie. Here he comes with his entourage.24/7 arbitrage.  Surrounded by decolletage.

I’d like a place in Malibu. Imaged by the pool. Lose it all and your hangers on. Multinational cool.

Distortion of reality. All an improvision. Controlled through corporations. Controlled by supervision.

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie.

Dig the new philosophy. Misled into sophistry. Then find its policy.

Gardening leave beckons. Won't embrace the change. Unwelcome negativity. Roses to arrange.

Controlled though mediocrity. Controlled by what's acceptable. Vehicle of advancement that's what makes it contemptible.

Speak out find that you are moved. Application not approved. All dissenters are removed. Not my lot to be improved.

Controlled by how you live and where you're born. Your payment changed. The price is from.

Controlled by selection. Just cant make the team. Controlled by those who commentate. Want to know what I could have been.

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie. Found living on the underside. Strange behaviour by the waterside. My world and yours collide.

Politically anxious, maybe just don’t have a clue. I’d like to not be shut down. Hear another point of view.

Modify my life. Change of my location. Controlled through speculation. Controlled by Isolation.

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie. Show a bit of latitude. Global inexactitude. Need digital gratitude.

Deal signed in a helicopter. Bit of stealth. Greeny wanted to donate his share. Be nice to split the wealth.

Controlled through consumerism. Controlled by advertising. Embedded marketing on Mr Mojo Risin.

Fed a false concept. Fed a lie. Kept down one too many times. Brain’s been busy working overtime. Crossing six one and four nine.

Can’t even sing my blues. The legend hails the devil. I plan to say a prayer tonight to make that concept level.

Gifts for when I die. Monies I can't spend. Not so unexpected that I can’t control the end.

Hi Mike,

I missed a trick in my previous post, reflecting on it now. It's not clear to me from your post. Did you get the chance to listen to 'Fed a False Concept'? Do you think the lyrics match the tune? All feedback welcome.

Hola @TheGarageJump

It is actually a portrait song, a painting in which the brushstrokes of everything that surrounds us since before we were born appear. Good lyrics, difficult to musicalize but you have achieved it.
I wanted to ask you something, when I see and listen to the video, only the left speaker sounds... Is it my problem or is it like that?

Stay well

Thank you Mora. It's the blues....not the intention to only communicate via the left speaker. Interesting insight as the music came first and the lyrics were what was picked up from the tune....resource intensive lyrically that one.......I like the 61 and 49 reference.....I realise that's a bit sad, praising my own stuff.....and glad to mention Peter Green, who was amazing....anyhow....your video is terrific,,,how do you do that?

Really enjoyed that @TheGarageJump

I don't usually read lyrics while listening to songs but I had to once I saw how dense they were and was curious to see how it was going to sound. I'm hearing a bit of The Fall in the and rockabilly groove. I hear what Mora is saying on the speaker side. Might be worth to look at exporting again with an adjustment on the balance? I think you could beef up the guitar and drums on the right for example.

Is that a band you have or are you playing all the instruments?

Thanks for these comments and your curiosity Abstract Mouse - all very helpful. The specific technical feedback and ear are welcome - I plan to have a look at that (as stated to Mora). Another lad did all the music and played all the instruments (he's very talented imo), sent on the tune and I did the lyrics, phrasing and arrangement. Interesting comparison 'The Fall' (cheers).

Luvin' the blues rock! :acoustic:

I could easily get your vocals to sit more "naturally" in this mix if you have separate trax.

Like the lyrics!

Thanks Tony, balanced comments cheers, just read these. I agree 'The existentialist' as he is known (by me) as does a great job here. Interesting about the mix as I haven't seen the lad for a couple of years. He sent on the music and I worked the lyrics around that.
