Fragments of Cloth

A turn of the head

and eyes that led

to catch onlooker gaze

It always worked

those come on ways

but guilt he couldn't shed

but underneath

his inner skin

behind his lofty grin

he had no soul

for hearts he stole

no matter where or when.

The lady gone

his pain disguised

his life is just for one

no second thoughts

i'ts just his way

he smiled

but thinks he's won.

Not sorry now

i'ts just his way

no fool to bow his head

he stands up tall

taken on them all

to quell what gossips said.

He's happy now

i'ts just his way

attentions all he had

so leave him be

he was'nt bad

a flirt and just a fad !

It’s harder than it should be.  I haven’t written a poem for a long time but recently I’ve wanted to take a poem, then write a paragraph about it like the free writing exercise does it, then build a lyric from there.  My thinking is, we’re trying to turn the poem into a lyric, but maybe instead of trying to literally interpret it, we should just let the poem inspire what comes next you know.
