There is no right or wrong, but 'Musician's Lounge' is more for discussion/chat/information ... imagine us all sitting around having a coffee and picking up on conversation starters.

To post your music, you might consider these areas instead:

  • Finished Works
  • Collaborations
  • Covers & Remixes

There's also the "Critique" forums is you are seeking feedback.

Each Forum is an interatctive space.  "Have a listen!" is a bit like bursting through the door and shouting in our faces.  Where is the explanation of the who/why/how?

"Thoughts?" ... along what what lines?

We all start somewhere.  Be gentle and collaborative.

Greg :)

I still find the categories a bit confusing myself.  Just ease yourself.  Introducing/explaining your post is always a good conversation starter.  Respond to others.  I hope to see/hear more from you in future.

I totally get what you're saying. It’s all about finding the right spot for different types of content. Posting in the dedicated forums for finished works or collaborations makes sure the right audience sees it and can give meaningful feedback. The Lounge is more for casual chat and sharing ideas. It’s great to keep things organized so everyone can get the most out of the discussions. And yeah, a little context always helps when sharing something new!

Loads of interesting theme ideas. I thought at first it was simply a collection of unconnected ideas, but as you returned to themes I thought that maybe you intended them to be together? Essentially a blend of rock and reggae beats. It is harder to do successfully without vocals imho. Carrying people with you is harder and emotional connections are a little harder to make. It should be interesting.

What still has to be done to this?

Unlike a lot of social media, members tend to look up information no forums a long time after first posting. With so much info, it is much easier when it is categorised. It also means that it’s easier to maintain different post formats for different post types.

Nav is a little more hidden on mobile devices, but once you know how to navigate, the categories themselves aren’t too bad.

Fear not we are only a question away and the staff aren’t ogres, so feel free to ask questions!
