THE GAMBLER (poem) L BLUNT NOV 2006

Hes looking at the stars ,

when hes living in the gutter ,

goes to the bookies to have a little flutter ,

hoping the horse comes in without a stutter ,

spend his winnings on a dirty scutter ,

down to the pub to celebrate with a beer ,

moneys all gone and hes got no idea ,

better and gamblers all want it 100 to 1 ,

they get really upset when the moneys all gone ,

on his way home and back to his den ,

never never wants to bet again ,

when all thats left is a free bookies pen ,

oh yes hes the gambling man ,

never listens hes just so addicted ,,

no money left ,

and hes been evicted ,

the gambler , the gambler ,
