Urgent Advise On Tokai Lc107

Hey guys/gals

 

I am very very close to picking this one up new due to lots of advise from local community forums here in South Africa but would love to hear your opinion on this axe. Tokai LC107 (2014 Model)

 

 

Tokai's change their model numbers on their guitars depending on the year model which makes it a bit difficult to do proper research.

 

I was set on an Epiphone Studio version, then nearly forked out some extra cash for a real Gibson Les Paul Studio 60's Tribute but decided to do some more homework and people strongly advised me against it.

 

Tokai is quite popular here in South Africa but I just love a Les Paul shape and sound. I am advised that the Tokai LC 107 is quite on the standard of a Gibson Les Paul Standard for it's money worth.

I had not heard of that brand of guitar until reading your post.

And also like you , couldnt find alot of info beyond coming to the same conclusion as you as far as the dating issue.

I did hear some demos with that guitar being used on that sounded very good but thats hard to go by due to all the things you can do editing.

I did read that some are made in Japan and some in other countries.I have quite a few Ibanez's and love them , but all the ones I have were made in Japan , which in my opinion is where their quality instruments are made , In other words Id consider the Japanese model to be a plus .

About the only other advice I could give is that hopefully there is one local that you could try and compare against  the other guitars you are considering , as I wouldnt consider buying a guitar without playing it unless there was a FULLPROOF moneyback guarantee if you werent satisfied with the product .
