  1. Thank you for the lengty response Greg. Is truly appreciated :)

I Shall have al look at the Video CLUB thread. I was not aware of it. Thank you for that.

I do love the art of video and I am still learning and trying to find suitable clips that suit. I also write stories as well. So the music is more or less inspired from those stories or I let my self be inspired to write when I create music..

Video production I am fairly new with and I am still learning. My favorite is also Falchon's elegy and One man show. I used a lot of time to find the right clips, right cut and also think of what i wanted to show through my music and lyrics.

Lore I must admit I just found videoclips with infinte pictures that I am a little fascinated by. It might be to busy as you say and it probably takes away the attention to the music.

I shall have a look at the video CLUB thread. So i can learn more and find the right tools/ resources to create more music.

Thank you for taking your time :)

  2. I have made another song aswell. It's been a while I have written music. I am trying to do more with drums now :) So it is a song that builds up the tension(which I wanted as the song is about conflicts) Hope you are all good. Merry christmas btw :)

  4. Ohh I have sooo many songs, that are in private on SC. That I never will show or play to anyone.

I can show this one though: I thought it had some great harmony parts and I like to sing on Norwegian and I felt it had some "enya" moment in it. I wanted to add some soft river stream effects in it as I wanted it to be etherical.

The more I listened to it, the more I felt referances to a witch cooking in her kettle.. hahah :) Suddenly nothing worked in this song. I felt everything became wrong :) So i did not develope it more. I got a little put off :)

    haha

  5. Thank you guys!! :)

David: Thank you. Google is my friend, But it is a jungle out there of all kinds of sites on this subjects, so it was not easy to find any good ones.

But I do believe I found somethign that I can use now .

John: I think that site is interesting, some very good footage and the clips looks nice for my purpose. Thank you for the suggestion.

Alan: Ohh..Thank you for the Archive site, that is massively helpful :) Never seen that site before. I will defiently trawl that a little. Thanks!!!

PS: Ohh...I liek the idea to use some of your clips in one of my videos! ;)

I think I have what I need,  so I lock it.

  6. Hello everyone

I was thinkin maybe I should try to make a video of one of my songs:)

I have an idea with combining my own art and some specific videoclips (if I can find something similar to what I want). I will try to avoid "steal" clips since it can violate Copyright issues etc..

So I wanna try find  videoclips that I can use for a Video (that is allowed for commercial/promotion use.. )

Do anyone knows about such sites? or where is possible to find animations/video that I can use for my video?

    Thank you so much

(sorry if this is the wrong place to ask)

  7. PS John I loved your pics btw!

    They are great :)

I paint digitally John: I use Photoshop and a Bamboo Tablet with a painting pen:)

I have also  painted with acryl and oil painting, but I do not have the space to do that anymore, so for now I have found great joy to do it digital :)

    I have more pics here:

  9. aww so proud. Truly good review!!!! Very happy for you Michael. You are incredible talented, I think this is just a start of something big happening for you :)

    Congratz!!! :)

When you get famous, can you rememebr Oslo in your tourplan? I will be on the front row! :)

  10. Well. It depends on how you raise your question I suppose. If you post a song, and ONLY want feedback on whether the melody is good or not or have potensiale. (without any feedback on recording). Then I suppose you will get the feedback you want.

I am like you, I lack production skills (is very new to me as well) But for me it wouldn't make sense to ask people to only judge my song just bcs of the melody, then I would sort of exclude the truly important critics that I might get on the record bits. In my opinion is exactly what I need. critics on the parts of the song I am weakest at (production)

I post here, so I can learn, take advices and develope myself as a musican. i think melody/recording details go hand in hand. You have to have a certain understanding on both to make a complete/ear-friendly song. I am not saying you should/or are expected to be an expert. but an understanding. I think this is important, even if you aim others to produce for you.

The critics is also a way of learning aswell and I think we are blessed to have so many different musicians on this forum. (people with production skills, musically skills, and composition skills, and vocal skills) so I am thankful for any feedback I get.

I have never seen truly harsh critics here, but more as helpful feedback/advices to improve the song. I have truly learned a lot ever since I started to post here!

Even if I am a hobby-ist and do not aim to be a pop-star :D. I like my songs to be as good as possible, as I take pride in what I do, and are quite serious with my music, that's why I want to hear all critics on my song (full package)

PS: Sorry about grammar, english is not first language.

  11. I see this is your first post. So welcome..

I need to admit this style is quite far away from what I do and what I am used too. So my crits may not be so constructive., But I hear is very well produced,, The song is very cool and has a great dynamic (the rap is cool) Although the refrain confuse me a little, because the lady-vocal is not 100% in tune with the music, but perhaps thats the purpose? to make it a little unpredictable :)

I immidetly assosiate with Linkin Park, Rage against the Machine, Evanescence for some reason (On "The Coming" The lady vocal reminds me of Amy Lee)

Although I think is unique, because you use Rap on verses and female vocal on refrain on some of your songs: I am not sure if I heard that before.

Is very cool: Well done :)

  12. Hello :)

I think it would be better to hear themm before I throw out a style.

Perhaps is a chillout style? Is just a style that group up different styles within electroic music, but that is a little mellow, and made for relaxation. But not sure how dramatic the songs are?

My songs are very slow, but also continues lots of synths, harmonizing on voices, and I use lots of reverb to get dreamy effect..I use this in many different styles. Whether is a pop-song, ballade, a capella etc . So I don't really have a defined style either. When I try to explain my songs, I just tell people they are inspired of Enya and celtic/slow music.. But they are mostly ballades though..
