Self teaching is a good way to learn the instrument ,but imo you should have some basic lessons , just to learn the right ways to play the instrument.  You will definitely find out something you didn't know before. I for one played piano by ear , but my hand movement was all wrong , until i took a lesson.

Hello , i am a singer/songwriter who makes music with people all over the internet.  Its a hobby of mine ,so I don't do it very often . Once a year or so , but i try to make my songs as good as possible.
