  1. I'd like to say that your vocal control is extremely good for someone untrained! And your runs were really good. Not many people can do them well naturally, I know I certainly cannot. You have a really nice tone quality to your voice and I'd definitely listen to more of your singing, if ever the opportunity arrived. Thank you for posting this! :)

  2. You do have a very nice voice and in my opinion, it is more on the soprano or mezzo soprano side of the spectrum. That being said, the beginning was much better than the ending. I also believe that you might benefit from lifting your soft palette, that squishy part on the top of your mouth close to your uvula. It's become muscle memory for me since we do it so often in choir, but what it does is it allows notes to ring out more. It also can help to eliminate the nasal-ish sound from voices, which you sort of have. Another benefit is it makes women sound more mature. I'm not sure how old you are, but judging from your voice, I'd guess early teens to young adult, and your ability is good but you sound like a young girl.

I did like it very much and thank you for posting it! :)

  3. HI! I haven't used this forum before, mainly I've stuck to the writing bits, and I wanted to try it.

I've been singing ever since I can remember just for fun, but I also do choir at school and church as well as doing the musicals at school. I'd really like some opinions on my singing and if you have any tips for me, go ahead!

As for the song, I wasn't really sure what to choose, so I picked a song that I personally really love. It's called "A-Team" and it's by Ed Sheeran. If you'd like to listen to his angelic pipes first, which I strongly suggest you do, here's the original version: [media=]

Now, I chose to do this acapella so that you could get a clearer picture of my voice. I apologize profusely for the quality of my microphone. I am by no means a professional. It really isn't very good at all. If I haven't lost your attention by now, please have a listen.

    Thank you so much!

  4. Hey

thought this might be an interesting exercise:

    1. Do you sing, play an instrument or instruments?

I've been singing all my life and I play piano. I'm trying to teach myself guitar. Trying...

I learned piano from sheet music.

    2. Are you in a band or bands?

    No

    3. Do you write songs?

Lyrics, mostly. I have trouble putting words to music.

    Sort of.

    4. Do you record your music?

    No.

    5. What other roles do you perform in the music business?

    None.

    6. Are you a tech head?

I wouldn't consider myself to be.

    7. What country do you live in?

    US

    8. What are your ambitions?

Honestly, I don't have any interest in pursuing music as a career. I write and sing because I love it, but I know that music is not an income source that I can rely on.

    9. Do you draw/paint/write stories/computer art/dance or other creative pursuit?

I write what comes to me, whether it's poetry, lyrics, or prose. And I dance awkwardly.

I love drama. I'm active in theater and the stage is one of my favorite places to be.

    10. What would you like to get out of Songstuff?

I want critique on my lyrics.
