What a dressy bird you are

Looking like some divine star

How did you pose so perfectly?

How did you touch the heart of me?

At first I didn’t like you see

Then you showed nobility

Who dressed you in that fine attire?

That I can look on and admire

You’re far beautiful than I have words

You’re a lovely little dapper bird

My mind didn't go there for a second. It's a picture of a little chickadee on our computer that inspire me to write this. The artist inspire me to love the little bird. I'm going to rewrite it. Thank you!

I like the idea of seeing a beautiful bird as being somehow "dressed by someone" but it also occurs to me that birds are perfectly happy to live out their entire lives dressed only in what nature provided for them.

If you're the daring sort, I might consider taking this poem just a step further in an attempt to draw a stronger analogy between the bird, his appearance and....well....us.

Just a thought.
